I installed the Hellion turbo kit on my car a while back. The race pipes and Y pipes really made the stock mufflers sound mean. Great tone, but not loud enough for me.

With the Y pipe and turbo piping, im thinking most sounds clips with the stock or aftermarket h/x pipe wouldnt sound the same. 2 questions....

1. I dont want blarring loud like loudmouths, but want more than stock. Looks are a big thing, as well as they need to look brand new for atleast 3 years. Anyone else have a turbod car (secifically the hellion kit) with aftermarket mufflers that can give some advice?

2. WIth a turbo, people talk about back pressure and such. Should i go with a chambered design (ie. flowmasters) or a straight through design (Loudmouths)?

i didnt think you want backpressure witha turbo to get it spooling faster. I would go with a straight through design, like the borla's since loudmouths would be too loud for you.

You want a straight through race-style muffler with a turbo setup. No chambers. Magnapacks, loudmouths, etc. You'll probably pick up a few hp from the switch.

 

I had your same dilemma. The SLP LM's sound terrible with the turbo and no cats. The first thing I did after the turbo install was to take off the LM's and put the factory exhaust back on. I later put on the Steeda axlebacks and am very happy with them. They sound great, as would the magnapacks, SLP powerflows, or borla/FRPP stingers. I did have the car retuned after the exhaust swap as they affected the load tables in the computer. I lost 35hp until the dyno shop readjusted everything.

Cherry Bomb (Loud) or Supertrapp (Not that attractive, but tuneable). In any case you want a straight-thru design.

 

would the cervini side exhaust with Magnaflow bullet style mufflers be a good choice?

 

Those are chambered mufflers no? Chambers = bad on a turbo car.

 

I dont know but I hope my car doesn't sound like this if I turbo... The turbo sounds insane but I don't like the sound of the exhaust.
