MPG for your Mustang GT?
o/a average right now is 17.7 ... combo of stop and go and hwy driving. Have seen ave cruise on freeway of 24 on a 120 mi leg (70 MPH). This engine does not mind low rev's ... kick it in high gear as quick as you can and don't get in a hurry.

Dont you love Cali gas, i just spent a week driving as nice as i can to get the best milage i can and after a week of 5th gear driving at 40mph and all the normal 10mph freeway (los Angeles) driving i got a wooping 15mpg, when i drive the way i normally do (race track....street...whats the difference) i get 10-12 mpg
I did the same thing, was letting kia reo's get the jump on me 0-40 for a week, averaged 13.9mpg. Drive it without babying it, enjoying some power, I get 11-14mpg. I rather pay a little more and enjoy my car.
i avg 20 for my commutes to work all week.. Thats 60% interstate at around 80mph and 40% back roads where I avg anywhere from 40-60mph. There are some stops in there which means I have to fly out of em all like a bat out of heck.
Ive seen 27.8 on my way to blacksburg cruising at 75 for 2 hours straight. On the flipside on my vacation in Myrtle Beach, constant stop and go on highway 17 for 4 days left me with 10.5mpg......

20-21 on my commute which is mainly back roads with a few stop signs. I've seen 25-26 when cruising the open freeways. Once I had a few K on it I only got below 20 a couple times, due to a heavy foot and wide grins.

18 MPG when Im driving with my foot in it and its 50/50 Highway/street and mostly stop and go on the freeway.
On a good trip doing 70 mph on cruise i can get 26-27mpg. I get about 280 - 320 miles per tank.
Fun Freeway driving nets about 20 mpg at 100-130 mph!

thats amazing for cali gas, why do you think your car gets 5-15 mpg better then others in cali, do you have alot of traffic in riverside or is it mostly smooth driving?

Plus I drive 100 miles round trip for work everyday and I have 26000 miles on my car already and I purchased it in February.

I also didnt go past half throttle on break in for 3000 miles.

I was doing full throttle romps and banging the rev limiter with 20 miles on the odometer. Gotta break those rings in straight away or it don't get done
I put in a K&N replacement air filter (not a CAI), turn off the traction control when the pavement's dry and the a/c unless the heat is in the 90s. Driving reasonably, I get about 24 in general and close to 30 on the highway.
If I drive enthusiastically, it drops of course. And my daily commute is about 70% highway at 70 mph. Nobody on the interstate at 0530.....

Yeah I never did understand what a good breaking procedure is. So do you drive it hard to break it in or drive it easy??? I mean you dont want to glaze over the cylinder walls.
