Motor Trend 13.5 @ 103.6
they hated the V6 engine...blasting it by saying "There is no excuse for the rough running of the V6...The 4.0-liter single-overhead-cam was developed as a truck motor for the Ranger and Explorer, and its coarse nature and reluctance to rev spoil the ponycar fun. It's down 30 horses to the 1.0 liter-smaller Accord V-6. The charm of retro design goes only so far, and buyers accustomed to smooth, jewellike Japanese V6's may be disappointed."

5.1 to 60 and 13.5 in the quarter just means we'll all be doing 0-60 in 4.7 or 4.8 and tripping the quarter lights in mid to high 12's with a few mods.....can't wait to go represent at the track real soon!!!!

I taught the automatic did 5.1, so i'm guessing that the manual should easily do 4.9 or somthing in that area.....

Don't forget, I think they treated the auto pretty roughly....I can't remember if I heard someone say they either did a neutral drop or a brake stand or something?
Not exactly how the regular joe would launch the car.
Anyone hear different?
Sorry for not searching, but Car & Driver had a great review of the Mustang. The little bar graphs had the mustang beating the other 3 cars in almost every catagory.

Hey Speaking of Kia's
My Uncle has a 2001 rio, and yesterday he turned the wipers on with the windshield frozen and stripped the drivers side wiper arm, which buy the way is a different size than the passenger side, go figure..
Turns out that the wiper arm wasn't in stock at any of the dealers in BC(Canada) so they had to order one from Korea, or where ever those pieces of cheap crap come from. They told him it would be 6-10 weeks, so the car is now undriveable as its winter up there and you kinda need wipers!!!
Anyway My Grandfather heard this and being a smart Old Fart that he is, immediatelly got on the phone to Kia.
He explained that they can't do that as it is safety equipment and has to be kept in stock at all times. Appearently its a law for cars under 5 years old or something like that. Anyway they agreed and they are Fed-Ex-ing one to him A.S.A.P.
Just glad not to be a Kia Owner..

Ok all you manual owners out there (I am one as well) I have driven both auto and manual versions of this car. Your are not gaining much if anything with a manual. Remember this car has the same, 5 gears instead of four from the sn95, and a higher stall. This car will hold it to redline and doesn't loose very much rpm on the sift. It is a crisp shift that will bark second. Don't be fooled the autos will be just as fast as you and more consistent.

They may be minute, and not always consistant...given...
Both have 5 speeds, given. But check the ratios per gear.
Both have the same tires.
The GT manual has 3.55s and the Auto has 3.31s
So while an auto may be more consistant....
do they both have the same redline?
Just things to consider, not just 'they both have 5speeds'
