Hi guys,

I was wondering what performance mods are easy to swap in and out so that it's easy to pass a smog check? I know the air intake is an easy performance enhancing mod that can be swapped in and out no sweat, but what else? Exhaust mods? Do super chargers meet smog checks? I'm a performance newbie, so I'm not sure what does and does not pass smog checks.

To be smog-legal in CA, they need a CARB (Cal Air Resources Board) number. Most SCs are smog-legal, yes. A few things aren't (like LT headers and off-road X-pies, for instance) But, the good news is that a new law this year eliminates smog checks for 6 years for new cars. We won't have to even think about it until 2011... woohoo!!

X pipes have removable cats. You can use the factory cats for testing, then swap them with either comp cats or no cats.
