This '05 seems to have a ton of available mods and more coming out all the time. I'm getting a bit confused and would like to put together a comprehensive "Mod Plan" that incorporates the engine, drivetrain and, suspension.

It would be put together in groupings according to the kind of use (hp/handling levels) you are going to be using the car for - like a mild/medium/and "Full On" mod level: I'll start it and please jump in and revise/contribute as you see fit - let's see what we can put together as a reasonable guide to modding the '05 Mustang GT:

I Mild Mod level: (better street performance)

Engine/drivetrain/Exhast:
- CAI intake w/ Tune (SCT/Diablo)
- Steeda underdrive pullies
- Axleback exhaust

Suspension:
- larger wheels with lower profile tires
- Strut tower brace
- K brace

II Medium Mod level: (Street & Track performance level)
Engine/Drivetrain/Exhaust:
- above level I mods
- charge plates
- larger Throttle body
- "X" pipe w/cats
- rear gears (3:73/4:10's)

Suspension:
- above level I mods
- coilover struts
- adjustable panhard rod
- progressive rate springs
- larger diameter sway bars

III Full On level: (Strip/racing level)
- above level I & II mods (only as applicable)
- headers
- Poweradder
- drag chute
- NOS
- Drag Slicks
- upper/lower control arms/bushings

I dont really think a power adder is a stage three mod. would place it as like a two.

I'm not sure about this list. I have run a 13.37 with minimum mods. I let you know how the gears, ET Streets, and a dyno flash help out. Roughly 3-4 weeks to completion.

169 let us know how the et tires fit. I lowered my car 1.5 inch and plan to mount the same tire on a stock rim. Is that your plan or another rim? Are you getting the 26x11.5x17 et street? I wonder what a MT drag radial would do size 275/40R17? What is the stock rim width 17x9 or maybe 17x9.5 ?? Thanks

I will be buying some more bullitt wheels in a 17x9. I thought about going with a 315/30/17. It would stick out quite a bit. I'll only be wearing them at the track though. 26x11.5x7 is the same size tire as the 275/40/17, as far as I've been told. I haven't found anyone that has the ET Drag's yet and most are back ordered on the ET Street's.

OK - this post didn't work - how about a more direct approach......what (in your opinion) is the best combo of mods for an '05 that's going to be driven on the street mostly with the occaisional stoplight shootout? I'm looking for 300 - 325rwhp without compromising the "drivability" of my Stang and was wondering about:

1) CAI & Tuner (+ 26rwhp)
2) UD pullies (+5 - 10rwhp)
3) Magnaflow "X" pipe w/Cats (+ 9 - 15rwhp)

Will these mods really result in a cumulative increase of 40 - 50rwhp?

I'd really like to see someone do an engine swap with the Ford GT. I know they're using the GT engine for the 07 Cobra, but I'd like to throw that baby in the 05 Stang.

If that's possible, here's what my Mod Plan would look like...

1. GT Engine
2. Magnaflow Exhaust & Headers
3. Pullies (donno which yet)
4. Supercharger
5. Some kind of cosmetic work

I always do speed that looks. If your car looks fast, it darn well better be fast...

Dragon - that's the way to do it - but if you're gonna grab a GT engine - you may as well grab the chassis too!! You could always put the "running horse" emblem on the nose
