mod help (long)

Hey guys... I just recently purchased an '07 GT. This is my 3rd Mustang. Even though I have been doing a ton of research, I need help deciding which mods to do. I have have a certain amount of money to work with, and I want to get the best bang for the buck. I know some of this is VERY subjective (esp. exhaust sound), but if you can help me out a bit, that would be greatly appreciated.

Definite Mods

1. CAI / SCT2 (JLT2 / Brenspeed or Bama).
2. Gears (3.90s... I drive about 400 highway miles a week).
3. Steeda Ultralite springs.

Now for the questions. I have had Flows and O/R H on pervious 'Stangs, and of course, it sounded amazing, but it was loud and droned like hell, and I'm over that now. I want something that sounds good, not real loud, and doesn't drone. So, based on clips that I have heard, I have come up with a few options to accomplish this.

Option A

Use stock mufflers with MAC O/R Prochmaber.

Option B

Flowmaster Axleback with stock H-pipe.

Also, if I go with the Flows (used pair form a friend), I was going to get some Steeda U/D pulleys also. If I go with the Prochamber, I will have to wait on the pulleys, becasue I'll have to buy the Prochamber brand new.

Now, which option would give me more low end torque, the pulleys, or the O/R Prochamber? Does anyone have any real world dyno numbers form either?

If you want to reply, please only respond with comments on these specific mods.

Thanks.

Your 3 planed mods sound good. One small piece of advice, stay away from the 3.90:1 gears. This is mainly cause motive makes them. Try to stay with the actually FRPP gears, less whine and better quality. (stay away from RPMoutlet please) Also is this a manual or auto? If man I'd do 4.10's, auto 3.73's. As far as exhaust it is a hard item to get right the first time. Stock h pipe is a good piece, used flows should be ok, but they did have baffle trouble in early production. Pypes sound pretty close and with a stock h it's awsome. Plus they are cheap new. Pullies are a good source of "free" power. There are plenty of write up's on this board about most of these items.

Also a used set of SLP loud ouths can be found on ebay of classifieds here. Sound, fitment is great and with stock h it's nice and mellow till you hamemr it.

Hey Billy,
First off "Welcome to the forum" Second since you mentioned the offroad Macprochamber I am just the guy to help you with some sound clips. I am attaching a sound clip of the offroad prochamber with stock mufflers and with the GTA's that I am presently running. Both will provide you with absolutely "NO DRONE" when cruising. But the GTA's are a little more aggressive sounding. Also a clip of my car on Brenspeeds dyno in early May so you can hear what it sounds like at WOT with the GTA's. And finally a sound clip of what all of us want our exhaust to sound like. At least me.

I wouldn't go with flowmasters, they are the king of drone, and the mufflers for S197's tend to have the baffles break. But who wants a baffled muffler?

If you don't want any drove, my advice is to keep it stock. Your going to have drone no matter what, aftermarket kits just have louder drones. I personally love it. I had an o/r h and flows on my 85 GT and the drone was loud, and I loved it.

And they look great too (but I'm biased).
