I was trying to work on my launch/brake torquing (between 1500-2000 rpm)technique to bring my 60' time down. Didn't really help.

unknown car me 7:46pm
r/t .436 1.061
60' 2.627 2.126 (this is about normal for me at this track on Fridays based on last years numbers)
330 7.129 5.958
1/8 11.044@ 9.081@
62.63mph 79.17mph

empty lane me 7:58pm
r/t .520
60' 2.187
330 6.031
1/8 9.159@
79.07
8:37pm
06 Jeep Hemi Me (This guy had run a 8.9 right before this, and by luck of the draw we ended up next to each other at the last minute. I thought I was going to have my butt handed to me by a fracking JEEP)
r/t .209 .129 (wasn't worried so much about the brake torquing this time, wanted to win)
60' 2.046 2.127
330 5.897 5.931
1/8 9.106@ 9.041@
76.14 79.51

9:05pm
Me 2006 Mustang GT (bone stock)
r/t .740 .547 (I overloaded the tranny on this one and was spinning before I even let off the brakes)
60' 2.233 2.606 (He said the track was so sticky that he bogged off the line...... )
330 6.054 7.400
1/8 9.176@ 11.081@
78.80 69.48 (Don't ask me, I have no idea what he did or didn't do.)

mid 90's GT me
r/t .229 .309
60' 2.375 2.275 (this one I didn't BT it and just flashed the converter off the line like I did all last year)
330 6.673 6.129
1/8 10.029@ 9.258@
73.31 79.08

I was running the MT Drag Radials and turning them over enough to clean them off, but no big burn out. I know they were sticky because I could hear the rocks bouncing off the car all the way down the track.

I'll edit this when I get home for the numbers from last year for comparison sake.

Best run last year, 24 Sep 2005
r/t .129
60' 2.185
330 5.884
1/8 8.896@
81.84mph

Some thoughts: I went from no cats to hi-flow cats over the winter, would that make a 2mph diff in speed in the 1/8? I wouldn't think so. I was also running race gas a lot last year, 100+ octane and this year ran 93 eythl blend. That I could see having an effect. Weather could also be a factor, was kinda muggy the other night, and last fall air was dry.

Slap some 4.10s in there and I bet those 60' times drop a tenth or two.

Now that might be the case, but early last year when I had the 4.10's in I was getting WORSE 60's due to the street tire/crappy track effect. I had them swapped out before I bought the MT's so I have no idea how they would have hooked with my current set up. I do know that with 3.31's, the diablow tune and the MT's I was bogging off the line. No bogging with the Lidio tune.

I originally had a canned Predator tune with Nitto 275/50-17 street tires and 4.10s. The car hooked OK with that set-up. Then, I switched to an X2 from Doug, and the street tires quit holding. Once I added the drag radials, I had no problem hooking again. And even after the Kenne Bell blower was on, the drag radials and 4.10s worked for me.

But, with my torque numbers expected to climb even more now, I'm switching to 15" wheels and 28" tires (275/60-15 MT DRs), and sticking with the 4.10s (plus a 2700rpm-stall torque converter).

Don, I plan on getting a KB, but not for a few years, and I will be content with the 3.31's with that set up. If not for the gas prices I'd pay the money to have the 4.10's put back in and see what it would do.

Honestly though, I need to get over the whole how fast can it go thing and start seeing how consistant I can be. Run what you brung is fun, but the bracket racing is where the money is, and don't matter how fast you are bracket racing, just how consistant you are.

For next few years I'll be living my speed dreams vicariously through you!

I'm with you 100% on bracket racing consistency. I just decided to go faster consistently, too. haha.

One thing I did a few months ago that really helped consistency at the track, was to install an eH2O pump and remote fan switch. I can cool the car down completely in 5-7 minutes, and by making each run at the same temp, it worked awesome. At the last bracket race I ran in, my last time trial run before the bracket race was 7.890 (1/8-mi track). So, I dialed in at 7.89. In round 1, it went 7.895, and in round 2, 7.899. But, then I went red in the Semis.
