Mid-pipe suggestions.

I've been highly considering buying an off road mid pipe to go with my Max Axle-back and I was wanting some suggestions. I've been all over you-tube listening but I can't get a good idea. I would like to go pro-chamber but because of the price, that makes it out of the question. So what do you all think off road X or H. Also I understand that this can cause a a check engine light to come on, is there any way to avoid this without a tune ? Thanks for all responses.

How loud can you take it and how loud do you want the car to be?

boduke is right on for basic sound differences

offroad = much louder due to no cats
offroad with straight through axlebacks = crazy loud

first decide what kind of sound you want and then HOW loud you want to go. And videos help but they can not convey what it sounds like in person OR in the car.

I went with the MRT catted high flow H and chambered mufflers - louder with the high flow cats but tame at idle and not obnoxiously loud when you hammer it - just a deep mean sound

Well, I can stand it to be quite loud, but I do not want the drone to get much worse when cruising at 60-70 mph. I don't believe the Mac's are straight through muffler, which might help. One thing I do really want is for them to scream at the upper RPMs, the Macs are really deep and I generally can't hear them when going WOT.

I have a 08 GT with offroad h pipe and a Pypes axle back. It's to loud for me. When you are inside the car is sounds good and is not to loud. When are behind the car it is way to loud. It will hurt your ears if you are behind it when I rev it up or when I getting on it. I've ordered me a on road X pipe from magnaflow. So I can get it a little quieter.

H8imports is the Pypes AB a chambered type muffler like the Mac, I have ? What about the drone how is it when you are cruising in 5th gear ?

What about the tune, am I going to need one to keep the check engine light from coming on?

Thanks for all the responses.

I would beg to differ in the "awesome" department.
I love my SLP X-pipe with high flow cats, I still need to get a vid up in my thread I made earlier.

So it seems everyone here believes I should go with the O/R H. I'll be getting the Pypes O/R H from Brenspeed. But before I order here in the next couple days, can anyone please clarify whether or not I'll need a tune.

Not everyone
Anyway, you do not need a tune, if run with out a tune you will get check engine light coming. You can try and find some MIL eliminators as well but I am pretty sure they stopped selling them.
However, I would recommend a tune from Bamachips.
