MGW shifter
Santa is thinking about bringing me an MGW shifter. The research I have done indicates they are great.....has anyone had a bad experience with one ?

you might want to try using the search function as most subjects/items like this have quite a bit of feedback. I did a quick check and found this one, which should give you plenty of reading material.

Before I bought my MGW shifter I researched over 400 posts in several different forums. I found 2 posts which were critical of the MGW and the rest praised the shifter. Several of these posts included those who had tried all the popular shifters -Hurst, Triax, 5.0 and concluded that the MGW was the best. The company is reliable and customer oriented, the product is outstanding quality. As an example of their approach to the customer, two people out of over 100 early customers reported that a linkage rod in the shifter had bent during operation. MGW revised and strengthened the rod and proceeded to send that revised rod out to all who had purchased the shifter. There was a similar situation with the springs inside the shifter being to stiff in the early models. Revised springs were manufactured and sent out to all customers. All of these early on problems have been resolved for quite a while but the point to take home here is that MGW is a company that really takes care of their customers, something almost unheard of in today's modern business world. I have had my MGW shifter for 16 months and it is oustanding.

Santa was going to bring me one too, but he's running low on cash buying toys for everyone else

I went through two of them and have gone back to the Pro 5.0. Couldn't be happier. The MGW was very tight into first and second which made daily driving a PITA. Reverse was a PITA as well. MGW is a great company with outstanding customer service. Unfortunately their shifter did not work well with my car.
