I usualy just drive medium because there isn't room to drive really fast. the road i pulled out onto has a speed limit of 45 and i have already been pulled over on that one for going 60 (highway hypnotism, no ticket though).
I have an auto too, and when you shift it manually and just don't hit hte gas very hard, you can shift 1-2 around 3500 rpmand 2-3 in the same area, and wind up at about 40-45mph.

This car is fun though, so I drive medium around town but any chance i get I give it some gas I have had it shift 1-2-3 in the air, 2nd and 3rd gear were done in less than a second lol

Does the 'trumpets' hurt your ears? I can't figure out why people don't like it. Anyone who has ridden in my car always said it sounded kick ***...

gotta think of a better word other than trumpets. i thought fraps was a good word

haha you used my car to demonstrate the trumpets? i got em yeah but that is extremely mild. try to run an o/r h pipe with slps or stock mufflers and it is 10x worse.

I did a search and I found found different articles that said it works very well for a resonator. I should be getting it tomorrow. No need to tell you that will be the first thing in the morning!!

I'm running shorty headers, the bassani comp cats, and the bassani xpipe with no mufflers and it doesn't trump.

I'll be removing the compcats this week (hopefully) and adding a pair of bassani mufflers. So we will see.

That must loud! I wonder if the x pipe is the key?

his X did with the SLPs, but don's setup now with the bassani muffs and his custom off road X doesnt trumpet.

hopefully he will come in with more details, he is better at explaining.

Yes, I had MAJOR trumpets with both an X and an H when I had high-flow cats and SLP LMs. Magnaflows and Bassanis were much better.

I have the same problems you have, PLUS my torqu converter has messed with my shift points - the trumpeting is more pronounced.

I just placed my order thru Summit...

I've done more research and I think the cause for trumpetting is that the exhaust pulse vary too quickly creating an increase in pressure in the exhaust pipe at this exact point. Manufacturers will increase restriction to line-up the exhaust pulse so it's easier to control the noise. If you get into the 2800 rpm range slowly on dont notice the trumps but if you get to it fast, you do. When you go slow to the range the pulse is more even then when you go there in one shot. All of this to say that without the restriction you can have weird sounds comming out depending on your engine.

Also I called Alternatives Auto and they said that the resonator did a great job at reducing the drone and considerably reducing as well the higher pitch sounds. He said it will calme it down.

So for now I'm still waiting for the resonators to come in.
