Installed the MAK Performance off-road X-pipe tonight! The swap was fairly painless...actually,getting off factory pipe was harder than install of new one. Also, i did it at night with just Ramps,by myself! TIPS: Raise car up as high as you can or use lift, get a buddy to give you a hand with wiggling old one out,and last but not least....let the car COOL DOWN,before removing...LOL. I am so impatient! Had to drive car to garage to install...and couldn't wait to get into it...needless to say,i burned the poo outta my arms....LOL. Back to the pipe. The Mak pipe,is lighter, and really easy to install. It comes as a two piece unit. Fits the car perfectly! The sound is hella louder! I have Jba axle backs...and boy did this pipe make it them sing! They are calm when just cruising along...but when you nail it...wow..you will get the policemans attention! As far as power gains go...i havent even installed the Predator yet..which will make this even better, and let me tell you...you WILL notice a difference! My car went from barely a spin of the tires to spinning into 2nd gear from a standstill, and chirps the tires on a good 2-3 shift! I have an Auto, with only a few hundred miles on it...only have h/c trap removed. No CAI,no tune (yet),no gears,no underdrive pullies installed yet...and already the car rocks! I feel that for 199.00 bucks,it was well worth it! I would have to reccomend this pipe for good bang for the buck! Seeing how i cannot post sound file for you guys...the best way to describe the sound is that it sounds exactly like the car that ran the 11's in the video that is floating around this site! Nasty sound to it!

How long did it take you to install the pipe? I am thinking of getting one of these, how would you rate the quality?

I tried to contact Mak seeing if they could build a SS version and at what price. I never heard back from them. I think I may try this X-pipe out, since its about half the price of the others on the market. Aluminized steel should last a while.

Pipe went on in about 15 minutes...by myself! Excellent fit and quality. It sounds like the car that ran the 11's in the vid that is floating around here somewhere!

Can you get a sound clip? I gutted out my cats, so basically have an off-road mid-pipe myself. I'm curious to know if yours sounds louder than mine. If so, I might be interested in getting the Mak x-pipe. And your auto chirps from 2nd to 3rd, and you don't have smaller gears or any other major mods? And your engine isn't even broken in yet? That's hard to believe. You sure you aren't hearing things.

Impressive to say the least! Without a tune chirping 1-2 is impressive, let alone 2-3. Anyway - how did you take care of the rear 02 sensors and the check engine light? Now I'm definitely thinking of going offroad pipe rather than mufflers.

I have only driven the car about 50 miles so far on x-pipe...no mil light as of yet! If i do get one though...Mak says that a tune will correct any issues with check engine lights. The car is really loud when you nail it...at least with JBA' axle backs! As far as the tire chirp goes....it only happened ona city road...they are kinda smooth! Further miles proved only 1-2 shift chirp! Maybe i hit a bump or something as it shifted that time...can't get it to do it again in the 2-3 shift!

Hello, ihave no way to put up sound clip, but to me it sounds just like that car on the site that ran 11's! It is really loud if ya ask me! As far as that 2-3 shift chirp...only happened that one time ,and that was on a smooth city street....can't get it to happen again! I can do a 1-2 though! This car really revs well though...seems like it is broken in already...if not, can't wait till it really gets broken in! I have the Predator...which i am going to load tommorow! Can't wait!

Thanks for the info. I chirped from 2-3 in my auto once before... that was after making many mods. But, that's a good feeling, I can tell you that.
