I just got done installing the Magnaflows and was wondering if they get louder over time. Install was a breeze and it has a nice deep tone but not the difference I was expecting. Thanks.

I'm sure it'll get a little louder once the mufflers break in. I'm kinda wondering about the sound of Magnaflows too, considering getting an axle-back kit when my tax return finally shows up.

Magnaflows do have a breaking in period......
The mufflers are filled with a material called Italian Rock Wool...
(basically processed lava rock- so you know the material won't burn up)
The way the rock wool works is that it hardens up over the first few weeks of driving..give or take a week or two....
As the material hardens, it becomes more dense and as it becomes more dense it does not absorb sound as well as it did when it was softer....
This means louder exhaust over time with more durable internals (the Italian rock wool will not melt below about 2700-2800 degrees)
This is how a Magnaflow breaks in- so yes they will get louder-

Yeah I've had mine for about 2,000 miles and I've noticed it has gotten a little louder. "Problem" is that it's quiet from inside the mustang. I listened while the service guy drove off in my car one day and it really sounded great.

The Magnapacks are going to give you interior noise and be MUCH louder then stock on the outisde......
They are a VERY aggressive exhaust system....
The Magnaflow is similar to what we use on the Saleens and Roushs..more noise then stock, but no real noise on the inside of the car....

Had the axlebacks for about two months. They had a deeper sound than the stock, which I wanted. They have gotten a little louder. Got sent an early set when I ordered which had the notches misaligned and half the welds missing but the next set were perfect.

After i installed my Magnaflow axle back, I started the car and almost thought my stock mufflers were louder. But I have noticed they have gotten a little deeper.I only have 1000 miles on the car so far.
I am thinking it realy wont have a roar to i remove the cats...

Also, I can not get the left one to fit in the center of the cutout.

Man I have to chime in here now -
I had the Magnaflows also and let me tell you - I thought my stock was louder. I loved the look fo the Magnaflow but I wanted something louder.
I bought some Magnapaks from a member on this forum and I LOVE THEM. Like gnn60gt500 said they are much more aggressive and definitely what I was wanting in an exhaust system. If you can live with a little drone around 1900-2100 rpms then Magnapaks are for you. They have a great rumble and sound KILLER at WOT.
One note I will say - if you are planing on getting a x-pipe then I would stick with Magnaflows. I personally think running Magnapaks with a x-pipe (or some after market x or h pipe) will be too loud. Just my opinion.
Check out the Magnapak video I posted awhile ago: Magnapak Video
Hope this helps...Jay

If you can dig up my old post, you'd find I said the exact same thing.
I put on the Magnaflow axle-back and was bummed - I think the stock was louder, although the Magnaflows were a bit deeper. They got a tiny bit louder over time, but nothing like what I wanted or expected.
Then I added a Bassani off-road x-pipe to the equation and now I've got what I want.
video, exhaust swap - first half is stock, then Magnaflows
video, Bassani o/r and Magnaflow axle-back
