Magnaflow Exhaust Questions

I have a couple questions regarding some magnaflow exhaust set-ups. I was originally planning on getting the Bassani Race Axle-Back and using that with a set of JBA long tube headers, however a friend of mine recently let me know that through his business he can get me anything Magnaflow makes for a very large discount, it is large enough to make me get magnaflows. I want something that is very loud, and with the largest tips, I was looking at the new exhaust model #15883 http://www.magnaflow.com/02product/s...merican&id=360

I basically want to get the nicest magnaflow exhaust set-up they make, and I would prefer something with mufflers similar to the ones in the #15883, and with a 4 inch tip. I am having problems finding information about this exhaust as well as teh differences between teh other magnaflow set-ups. I need to get this by the end of the week in order to get the discount, as I already got Stoptech brakes through him. Thanks and I appreciate your help!

Those would be perfect. They're Magnapacks, so they're louder than the regular Magnaflow mufflers. Here's 2 clips of mine before I put the o/r H on:

Clip 1
Clip 2

Sorry that you can't see much, I took them right after I installed them and it was night.

Go with the Magnapaks if you want loud. I have the regular Magnaflows and I like them, but I don't think they're what you're looking for. However, combined with the Pypes OR pipe they are plenty loud enough for me.

I've got the magnapacks and I think I'm gonna take on the project this summer of making my exhaust even louder. I want to buy a set of longtubes and take it to somone who can weld some longtubes to my magnaflow catted xpipe and keep the cats on it. Should be pretty badass.

My Exhaust?

I would actually like a solution that is only a bit louder than stock and sounds basically the same but a bit deeper/fuller, but still retaining the raspy rumble when you rev the engine or downshift. What would anyone suggest for this? Thank you, Erik

I think the regular Magnaflows are right up your alley. I think their site has sound clips...

here you go...

Regular magnaflows are not that loud. Look at my blog for comparison shots between the stock mufflers and the magnaflows. If you are looking at getting the Magnapaks I have a set with midpipes that I am selling.

John,

I was not responding to the original poster. I was responding to Cobalt who only wants "a bit louder than stock". Sounds like the regular Magnaflows to me...

ah, sorry about that.....you are correct. The regular magnaflows are a bit lower and a bit louder at WOT than the stock.
There is a huge difference between the standard Magnaflows and Magnapaks when it comes to depth and WOT loudness.

Thanks for the input everyone, I did call Magnaflow and I think either the 15881 kit or the 15882 axel back will do the trick. I can actually see myself almost done with all these endless alterations. Erik

I got magnaFLOW and then also the stainless x-pipe ... love the sound (minor increase) and the performance (major difference).

Exhaust plate?

I have a 05 roush sport and was following a co-worker to work one day and loved the way his 05 sounded. Asked him at lunch a few days later and he told me he has the same exhaust that I do. The Magnaflow axlebacks, but he has the muffler shop remove some sort of plate. He was told that plate muffles the sound somewhat and there is another one somewhere closer in the engine bay. He had no idea what the name of the part was, but I know it wasn't the cats that he was talking about. Does anyone know what he was talking about? I'd like to know so mine can be a little more aggressive.

just installed 15883 Magna Flow

I just put the 15883 Cat back system on my 05 GT vert. They sound great and almost hurts your ears with the top up when it is low on rpm's. quite a rumble.
