I have to say that the Magnaflow exhaust is excellent, some say they are to quiet, I think they are perfect, the tips are awesome, the sound is deep at idle, and very nice at wot, oh and there is no noticeable drone...

I had the magnaflows and went to the magnapaks, but I must say, if I see another post about "who has magnaflows" I think I'll, well, have to read it also

Seriously, I swear I see the same post every week.

That darn notch. It gave me trouble too, but worth it in the end. I love my Magnaflows. Gotta love those 4" rolled tips too.

Getting ready to install mine... tell me about this "notch" problem. I know the OE pipe had a tab and the magnaflow has a notch, but what's up??

I have the magnaflow cat back. After 3K miles they have gotten somewhat louder and have a slight drone under heavy load at ~2K RPM. I love the exhaust and wouldn't change a thing. The tips rock!

Actually, I think it's pretty cool that Ford used Steve McQueen's movie "Bullitt" to tune their exhaust to the sound of Steve McQueen's Shelby. That's the kind of designer I want building my Mustang! Someone really "driven." Sure wish they were monitoring this forum. They could learn even more! Free and unsolicited feedback on their vehicle...What more could they ask for?!

Do a search. I posted somewhere about this notch issue. I included pics as well. However, if you just bought your kit you most likely got a set that has been fixed. FORD, in their infinite wisdom, changed the exhaust setup after a lot of manufacturers had their test mules.

Had the "notch problem" with the first set as well as one of the mufflers missing about half of the weld areas (this was an early set) but having said that - gave me the sound I wanted. IMO a little deeper, maybe a little louder at first but once broke in - did get louder.

The car in Bullitt was not a Shelby, it was a 68' Faskback GT with the 390ci V8.

Magnapacks have a bit different look with louder, more aggressive tone. Have seen Magnaflows(catback) anywhere from mid-$400 to mid$500.
