Good question... Evo would KILL the mustang, stock vs. stock... But now with the blower, I am not quite sure which is fastest. Probably within tenths of each other or maybe the stang is probably faster now that I think of it.

As for which is more fun to drive... Depends on the mood you're in... Cause they really behave quite differently. I'd say it's a tie, maybe slight edge to evo cause you can drive it in the snow, but then again you can do sweet burnouts in the stang ... Tough call.

I would think the stang with a S/C would eat up an evo . I raced an evo a couple of week's ago and beat it.......but, I could tell he wasn't givin it all he had because I could hear him come up then slowly shift, come up then slowly shift and he stopped after third ( it was almost like he was scared to take it all the way up ). Those turbo's sound nut's though, I love those car's.

It was probably just turbo lag. When I raced an Evo he took hard off the line, then I caught up and passed him at the top of 3rd.

I didn't get a chance to make any clips today . It will be at least a week now since my car is going into the bodyshop tomorrow to have rust of all things fixed. I am still having a hard time understanding how all this rust started on my door at such low mileage. Here are some pics.

i hate how the roush intake comes completely around the whole engine bay, Roush could of done something better with that design.

No offense but come back next month after the new-ness wears off and try to be impartial with your advice. Give us insight on driveability, ease of modifying the tune when you add more mods (like, exhaust), and HP cost-per-dollar.

Thanks,

Tom

Hey Tom,
I know who you are talking about (DW) and I agree with you it looked pretty H....ked up, but I think it could be done alot better. You have friends that have been toolmakers for 30 years and didn't know it.

HP cost per dollar is a good measure, along with reliability and power curve...

If price is not a concern it looks like right now the intercooled whipple is the hottest blower (in my opinion), but if price is a concern, might be the magnacharger. My only concern with both blowers is which one will prove to have the best track record from a reliability perspective... Jury is still out. I feel i'm somewhat impartial, since I WANTED a whipple, but just could not see pouring the extra money into the blower. I'd rather spend that extra money on internals and then change the belt on my maggie and then see whats up...

Any updates from the Magnacharger owners or Whipple owners? Hopefully no one has tossed a rod yet.
