I remember that ad, there was a fighter jet in the background.

The Vortech car did 192 GPS verified mph on an airplane runway, with Richard Holdener driving, he said 200 mph wasn't far off, btw, not many aero aids, if I remember right.

Wow, I condone speeding and I haven't gone near that fast.

LOL. Notice I said years ago. I'm not even allowed to have a bike any more... well maybe a bike-cycle. Those days are long gone

New ring & pinion set, try to find anything lower than stock.

Do valvework (valves, valve springs, valve stems, port & polish, etc.), new cams that will work best for top end.

Hood pins.

Lower the car.

Steeda front bumper or Steeda front splitter.

Programmer to remove speed limiter, and also to tune up to that speed.

Upgrading air and fuel delivery would also be beneficial.

Or just buy a 98-02 LS1 Camaro. They run 160 stock. A friend of mine went 183 at the Texas one mile run last month with heads/cam nitrous. And he said it was still pulling.

Someone linked the post of the Vortech Mustang GT on the first page. It hit 192mph rev limited, with 575HP.

Exactly, so change out the gears, and you're there!

The people claiming that we are drag limited at 148 mph are partially right. This is while stock. Throw a S/C on there and you'll power right through it.

I'd say get a Centri Supercharger, lower gears, lowering springs, good brakes, and have a spare block ready because there is a good chance of popping your stock block while sustaining those high R's for long enough to hit 200 mph.

Come on guys, of course it's possible! People hit 200 mph in 1/4 mile!

Yes, I'm in Germany, but right now I've been working in Macedonia. Two months ago I took a trip to Germany and while crusing at 110 MPH someone blew by me so fast I thought he was going the other way. The traffic in Germany these days is so bad it is a real treat to be able to get 100 MPH for any lenth of time. Now if you really want to see what you can do top end wise, got to Croatia. They have about 400 KM of real good highway to blow it out or blow it up.

From what you guys tell me I will need some serious mods to compete, some of which I believe will be impossible or at the least very expensive to do here in Europe. Anyways I'll keep pluging along upgrade after upgrade and getting good advise from you guys till I'm happy or broke. Thanks

i know what you mean about droping down to 60 and feeling as if you were going 10mph.i would stay on about 180mph for a good 3 min when i wqas stationed at fort irwin. there's a stip of just street that goes for a good 20miles or something with no cops and no one around just desert.did a 40min ride in like 8 min. Not any more, moved to north carolina where they give you a ticket for just doing 5mph over the limit. Wish i had a bike when i was stationed in italy, autobahn driving is the s hit

Before you start thinking about 190 you better consider how you are gonna whoa it down. Ive been to 130 in mine and the brakes are shaky at best at those speeds. Just my .02 worth. BTW I bet at 190 you are gonna get air like an F-16 with that boy racer wing on the back. lol

I found myself a 3 mile stretch of unopened Interstate and I went through the gears and somewhere around 5500 rpm in 4th I buried the speedo, I shifted to 5th and watched the GPS. The hood started doing the "funky chicken" at 175 so I let off, then I asked myself: I wonder what my tires are rated at?? My car is lowered and had quite a few aero aids and of course the Vortech helps alot!!

I am assuming Big Poppa that you have seen the Mustang GT-500 commerical where the guy ships his car to Germany for that purpose. Anyway, your post reminded me of that...send us some pics if you do get her up in the 160's (have someone else take the pic, please).

You need a bunch of stuff

-Best brake upgrade you can get (expensive)
-Forced Induction (expensive)
-Front splitter + Rear diffuser
-Full suspension modification (sways, LCA's, UCA's, springs, shocks)
-Wheels and tires (tires rated for high speeds)
-Maybe different gears, I don't really know on this

But please don't forget that you need extensive suspension and brake mods.

I have Bullit Brakes/Vortech pushing 10+ pounds/all Cobra R body work/"C" springs-LCA's--UCA's--Tokico 5 ways
There isn't much about my car that is still "Stock", I have my "Mods" alone Insured for $20,000.
