I am looking for a louder sounding MUFFLER only for my 2006 stang GT..
I called Midus up and they will put on Flowmasters on for me at $350.
Unless you people think I I should buy another type of Muffler and have them put in in?
I don't want to go crazy and pay alot for 2 mufflers.
Will ONLY changing the Mufflers will make that much of a differance?
I am looking for a louder sound. And If I get flowmasters what ones would you all say I should get ...Thanks...............Thanks allll JohnnyT

There are a ton of options and a sticky with clips on this subject. If you want mufflers only, then you want an "axle-back" system.
They are VERY easy to install and you could save on installation that Midas would charge you. For $350 you could choose from most systems out on the market you just need to choose which one you like the best in sound.

Thank yeaaaaa,I heard sometimes that the Muffler does not line up right? And is it that easy to take offa few Bolts and put the new ones on.Or would it be better just to take it to my service station and have them put it on....Maybe they will chage my $60 a hour, and its about 1 hours to do it I would think....Thanks JohnnyT

Two hangers to each muffler. Two bolts to each hanger and one clamp attaching the muffler to the half pipe. You shouldn't even need to lift the car any.
You might actually find it easier to loosen the clamps only for the half pipe to muffler and the H pipe to half pipe which is two bolts each side. The half pipe is easy to slide off each end.
As for alignment I put in the cat back system and I don't know if the alignment would be more of a problem for the axle backs.
I just had to not tighten everything up all the way and wiggle or shift things around until they lined up right.

Not to rehash....(hint do a search). But a quick answer is most aftermarket install pretty easy. I put on flowmasters, removed the 4 bolts from the frame (left the hangers on the mufflers). Transfere them one at a time to the new one. Flowmasters have new clamps. Get all the bolts almost snug, losen the 2 bolts for that side your working on at the H pipe. Then center the muffler in the bumper cutout. tighten them up and your done. I did both in about an hour...You get a sense of satisfaction in doing the job yourself. I got mine from parts shopper on sale, delivered for under 300 bucks.
good luck
