longtube header install advice
I just received my MAC longtubes today and am waiting for the Prochamber to get here. I just wanted to see if you guys ran in to any problems that I should know about. I installed a set on my 93 notch a few years ago and it was nothing short of a P.I.T.A MAC says by removing the starter and steering rod that they should pop right in but I find that hard to believe
Also did you guys get new header gaskets to install or just reuse the stock ones?? Any help would be greatly appreciated

I have the JBA longtubes, and I know from experience they are way easier to install than previous years. You will be using new gaskets hopefully supplied by your header company and using new bolts is suggested. Please realize though with a N/A motor you will most likely only gain sound and 10 or 15 rwhp, much less than in previous years.

what kind of H/X did u buy to go with the new headers. I want a procharger but they apparently don't make them for LTs

Sweet guess I should have checked the site. What are the performance difference if any from the MAC longtubes and JBA longtubes I know the MAC cost a lot less?
From what MAC has told me the performance numbers should be right on par with other manufactures. They got almost 20 hp from the prochamber w/cats to stock headers so if I can get 20-30 with longtubes and prochamber, I'll be a happy camper. Will let you know next Friday
Is there anyone out there that has actually put a set of longtubes on the 05 yet??
Besides the starter and steering rod being removed anything else that you guys ran into that caused problems??

After I saw the engine bay of my buddies 97 GT, there is way more room in the S197's. I have the JBA LT's with catted(gutted(rattling material)) H-pipe. I re-used the stock gaskets as they were in very good condition, and still hae the stock motor mounts on there. I did have to remove the starter and disconnect the steering rack, but other than that it wasn't bad.
