Long tube install pics (56k take a nappy)
Here are a few pictures. I know some of you had requested I posted them in other threads. However, for the sake of hijacking and simplicity, I decided to start my own thread.
The steering shaft is CLOSE but never comes in contact with the long tubes. On the underside you can see that I actually utilized my Pypes offroad H pipe but carefully measuring and cutting. Since the collect on the LT's aren't flanged and both H pipe and collector are 2.5 inches, I bought two more Ford clamps.
Oh yeah, they are Hooker lt's with DEI exhaust wrap. Yes, the exhaust wrap definitely helps reduce engine bay heat. My friend has a Honda Challange race car and access to a dyno a his shop. He dynoed his B18c Civic before wrapping and baselined at 201fwhp. Wrapped his header and made 204fwhp. That's 3whp by just wrapping a header.
Enjoy guys.

Over time you may come to hate that header wrap. Because it holds the heat in it will shorten the life of the headers. The best thing for holding down under hood temps and header longevity is some type coating.

To be honest, I've never had a problem. As far as I'm concerned, that is a myth. I've wrapped 3 headers now on my cars, never have I had a problem. Then again, none of those cars touch any type of inclimate weather, which is probably a factor in that "theory."
