Listing of All Longtubes - 304 or 409 ?

Hey, I've been trying to make a solid decision on all the Longtube headers out there, and I keep forgetting which ones are 304 vs. 409 steel. I've searched and find some, but it's been a pita to find them all.

Could you folks help me fill this list in?? Feel free to let me know which ones I'm missing if i do miss any..

American Racing - 1-3/4 = 304SS
Bassani - 1-5/8 =
BBK - 1-5/8 = 409SS OR 304SS
Borla - 1-3/4 = 304SS
Dynatech - 1-3/4 = 304SS
Granatelli - 1-3/4 = 304SS
Hooker -
JBA - 1-5/8 = 409SS
Kooks - 1-5/8 =
MAC -
OBX = 304SS
SLP - 1-3/4 = 409SS
Stainless Works - 1-3/4 or 1-5/8 = 304SS

Additional question, would you think 409SS with ceramic coating is as trustworthy as plain 304SS in a salty state such as NJ?

I don't think the BBK's are 304ss. I think somebody through a magnet on there and it stuck. I'll see if I can find the thread.

In that case, better put an * beside the BBK so that people know you can get them either way (or that you get what you pay for, LOL)

N/A=1 5/8

FI = 1 3/4

But with that said I for one don't think the FI guys are going to give up more than 5 rwhp unless you are up over 600 rwhp.

Agree with Scott- most people will say 1.75" for blown applications, but if you talk to actual shops (Livernois, Brenspeed, etc.) they'll tell you that 1.75" isnt needed unless your looking for 600+rwhp.

Nothing holds up in Jersey!

Kidding.... I would go ceramic coated 409 before raw 304 in that salt water air honestly. I would go ceramic coated 304 over both! Kooks and then send them out to be jet-hotted = THE ULTIMATE header! Give me a call! I'm a dealer for Kooks and Jet Hot!
