yea its in a lot of pieces and you have to put it together, mine arrived this afternoon rather than 2morrow (FRIDAY), and I just opened it and I put a lot of the parts together except for the ones that require some bolts and the hydrocarbon trap on the vehicle.....

Thanks for the response. Do the instructions come with the unit or do you need to get them off the KN website. Good luck with the install

the instructions are a little complicated on how to put it together, its easy to install it under the hood but putting it together is going by a picture guide. Very small print, I think there is an instruction guide on the K&N website. The pic of all the pieces put together is pretty much what you have to go by, its a lil hard.

take out the HC and get a tuner and have that baby programmed. you will see about 30+ rwhp. I went from 265 - 295 between the C&L CAI, Predator programmer, and magnaflow CatBack. But the Magna didnt change the power at all.

What makes this site so great is the info people share. I was going to wait for awhile before a CAI, retune, etc and was just going to lose the HC and add a KN replacement filter. This way IMO, using the Air Charger, I can accomplish the same for now and later dump the HC and retune - also same some $$$.

Thanks

here is a thread I started a few days ago
under K&N + Predator
Hey there I know the K&N aircharger has been discussed but didnt know if anyone has the kit that RPM outlet has.
They put the Aircharger and Predator together and show possible
28.3 rwhp
23.1 ft/lbs
they are selling the kit for 499.95 and didnt know if someone got it. Me and my wife are considering this kit and if anyone has this kit please reply on noticable differences etc.
here is a link for those interested
http://www.rpmoutlet.com/05gt.htm

thanks in advance for the replies

hmm...there isn't a tune on diablosport's website.....

that's the only thing holding me back from getting the K&N. I don't have the HC trap anymore (it fell out).

it says "custom diablosport tune not required" , so its just a standard diablosport tuner.

It only gets a gain of 15.62 HP without a flash but I havent heard of any tune for that kit, I saw the webiste offering the Diablo and K&N Kit but I would like some proof on that, because I want to get mine tuned and the responses I am getting is that there isnt one. But I didnt put my HC trap in when I installed it and it works great, I cant wait for a dyno to see if it is better or worse than with it in like when K&N dynod it, but it is definately better than stock.

How long have you been running yours without the trap in? No CEL? Let us know when your gonna do the dyno, I'm currious on what the A/F mixture is with it in and out. I get mine next week and I am pretty interested. How's it run? Any differences? Sorry for all the questions, I kinda get excited when it comes to new stuff I'm getting.

yeah I know so are those numbers from a regular Pred tune plus K&N
I am thinking about calling and finding out if they do have a tune for the K&N.
just say that the K&N itself give you 13-15 more HP
then thats saying that the Pred tune gives you 13 HP
both equaling out the 28 more HP they are suggesting does that sound right?
just curious I am new to the CAI and aircharger/tuning world and I am looking for the best kit. If the numbers are right then the Aircharger and Pred are on top?

other than that at 499 for the set of both the Aircharger and the Pred seems like a really good deal considering that by themselves
aircharger = 249.95
Predator = 399.00

I am either going to get the c& l cai or the k& n cai with the predator tune, I will not be adding the hydrocarbon trap if I go with the k&n so the tune will be a requirement..I am on the fence right now about this, I am leaning toward the c&l cai I just think it looks better than the plastic K&N...IMO

Well, I was too leaning toward the C&L...as I had one on my 2000 V6..and it worked great.

But after hearing Rrobbello's and JessicaRabbits at the show last week AND that it is $253 after the TMS discount at Ninosport...

I am going with the K&N.

So the Predator "tune" that is being packaged with the K&N intake is just the 89 or 91 octane tune? nothing special? Or are the K&N people supposed to use the Steeda or C&L ones?

I am confused...

C&L unit rocks and it sounds awsome too! I went from 265 hp stock to 295 hp with C&L and Predator tune. 30 hp is well worth it. I also got mine at brothers performance for 199.00 and the diablo for 299.00. I get discounts because I used to work there. hehe
