Pretty straightforward stuff, Michael. When installing the JLT, you may find that the 3/8" hose that attaches to the valve cover is a little short. I replaced mine with rubber fuel line after the flimsy one got pulled into the fan belt and became two! Also, be careful when tightening the MAF sensor. Alternate when running the screws in and don't overtighten.

Did you spring for the DTP tune for the JLT? At $620, I'm thinking you did.

Curious - Why did you go with the SCT tune vs. the Diablo tune? I am looking at the JLT now and am wondering if one is better then the other on the tuners.

Cool.. I have been looking for CAI for my 'Stang and I think that I like the JTL one. Nice to see that I can order it color-matched to my car.

blackend -

Did you get yours yet? I just got an e-mail saying that the X-2 was on order and expected Monday. Just wondering if you got the last set... Darn, I was hoping to install it this weekend.

just get a professional dyno tune...trust me youll be happy with it, and its not gonna cost all that much if you already have ur X2.

you will be very pleased with the JLT if you have a good tune in...VERY pleased.
match it with 4.10s and some street/slicks, and i bet you can knock on 12's door

mine came in friday afternoon...i installed the intake and 87 octane tune tonight. so far so good.. i'm going to run this full tank of 87 out and make sure i don't get a CEL, then go for 91. sorry about the delay on your order but you'll be happy once you get it in. it sounds like a portal to he11 underneath the hood under WOT at about 3k and up.

4:10's are soooo next. all i'm waiting for is to find the FRPP's for around $200 and BAM...out with the Mastercard. what kind of gains do you expect i should see out of the dyno tune over the canned tune?

thanks!

Unless your looking to invest in a lot of extra dyno time, you won't see more than a few HP with a custom tune over the canned JLT tune. My tuner is very experienced with SCT and after looking over numerous values while data logging, he said it wasn't going to easy to get more power without a bunch of time on the dyno. So essentially my custom dyno tune session ended up being the JLT 93 octane canned tune with a couple of small "tweaks". The XCAL2 shows a huge amount of info while data logging - very impressive stuff! I don't care that my car gain "only" 17 HP with the CAI and tune on a Superflow dyno. It runs great.

I got the $620 kit too. CAI (black) with SCT X2 tuner. i got the 91 & 93 octane tunes. 91 Oct. is very strong. 93Oct. even stronger. both overpower my stock tires widkedly. throttle response is like it should be now. could not be happier w/ JLT CAI.

need my 295s out back. waiting patiently. LOL.

it was everything everyone else said it was. i'm very happy with it.

Guess you got the last one! Good for you..

Now, all I have to do is wait.... Perhaps my FRPP exhaust will arrive around the same time, I cannot wait to hear the two of them together...

i picked SCT X2 because of articles like this:

http://www.modulardepot.com/?show=articlesdet&aid=55

i read at least three articles showing the SCT X2 as clearly superior to the Diablo Sport Predator. SCT is on top of their game, imho.

note: the ATI procharger blower package comes w/ a diablo predator hand held tuner.

i've been trying to put off getting the FRPP exhaust for some time now. when i installed the JLT CAI, the bark along with my stock exhaust got nastier. i love the intake roar.

with a FRPP exh., your car should sound like an animal roaring down the street. i love the FRPP exh. note and would love to have them, but i wanna avoid the local constabulary as much as possible.

i'll probably break down eventually and end up with the same combination you have, Jeff. for now i'm glad to just stomp my pedal as anonymously as possible.

crikey! alas, i don't think i can resist the siren call of borla. check out this thread for borla info and impressions like this:

http://forums.bradbarnett.net/index.php?sh...pic=29868&st=80

NOW FOR MY IMPRESSION!!!!!!!
At start up the car is MUCH LOUDER and MEANER sounding! A real head turner!
Under normal acceleration the car sounds more like my 70 Mach 1 with its Flowmasters. Alot more like the muscle cars of old.
And the answer about the dreaded drone at highway speeds. I drove into work on the highway this morning varying my speed form 60 to 75 mph and there is NO drone. I would say it is very much like the stock mufflers.
Now for the best part and that is at WOT. WHAHOOO!!! She is LOUD and MEAN!!! You are very much in control of what the car sounds like just using your right foot. I am thrilled with the outcome.

FRPP = Borla They're Borla made with Ford Racing Tips

Find yourself a good parts guy and the FRPP can be had a lot cheaper than the Borla's.

That is why I got the FRPP exhaust, and they where much easier to find!

Ahh, this is getting tough to wait for all this stuff to show up. I just acannot wait to go ROARing down the street, neighbors know the car now.. just wait...

Guess no more sneaking home late at night ( like that was ever possible anyways)

Right on Harry, but Kevin has made the point that he can't get good prices on Ford Racing stuff.

Here's the line in his sig:

I am not a Ford Racing Dealer. I can get the parts but I can not get you the great Price Break. SORRY!
Here's a link to who ARE Ford Racing Dealers. Probably the most useful link on that website
