Need a little help here. Especially Mav, if you're around. I got my toys tonight and installed them. Wasn't too difficult at all especially with some of the pointers on the previous posts.

Here's the thing. The car will not idle. Low speed or idle the car is stumbling like crazy. Stalls at every stop sign. Not sure if this is normal or if I forgot something or what. Any suggestions would be welcome. I'm wondering if I have an air leak somewhere. I'm sure that would cause an issue. I'm sure I tightened all the clamps etc.

One thing for sure though, this is no longer a stock '05. When you jump on it...WHOOOOOOW. Totally different animal. I know I'm going to love it once this issue is resolved.

I remember someone said that their car ran like crap when they first installed for like the first 3 days. I'm wondering if that's what I have going on here.

Any suggestions welcome.

UPDATE!!

I figured out the problem. I sat here thinking hmmm...what could I have done or NOT done to cause this.

Went to the garage, opened the hood and went over all my steps....FOUND IT. Valve cover breather hose on the driver side bank was not reinstalled.

CLICK...Drive.....AWESOMEEEEEEEE

This combination definitely adds HP and driveability. The flat spots are HISTORY. Honestly, anyone with an '05 GT should do this. Worth every penny.

The more things change...

First thing I thought, was an open vacuum line to the carb.

...the more they stay the same!

Couple of questions.. Do you have the 5spd and are you using a tune? or are the K&N and TBS the only mods?

Disconnect the battery for 30 minutes so the computer loses the idle fuel trims. Start the car let it idle one minute, then shut it off. Start the car again let it idle for one minute with the A/C on. then shut it off. This will set the idle fuel trims. Start the car and drive it like you stole it for 10 miles.

Even though the problem was rectified, this should still be done IMO.

Sorry guys, it's been painfully busy at work.

The car is stock except for these two mods. It is a 5 speed and there is no tune. And I really can't imagine the need to re-disconnect and restart. The car runs so much better, I can't imagine getting even more out of it honestly.

Is this the kit you're refering to?
Part # 63-2565

How much was the K&N kit by itself?

That's the one. I managed to snag one from Exotictruck in FL for $219. I really feel this was the best price. With shipping I believe it was $232. They were a little weird, you definitely don't get any communication from them. I was worried at first, because all my emails and phone calls remained unanswered. Just as I was getting ready to start complaining, the tracking number appeared in my email the same day as the product arrived. I did the TBS and the K&N at the same time of course since you're already in that part of the car. Installation was done with relative ease and thanks to the pioneers here at the site, I knew enough to be careful with valve cover bolts etc.

Definitely worth doing.

Thanks, Lane. That's the "company" I found on eBay once I started looking around.
Funny thing is, he sells it for several different prices on eBay. $220, $226, $240, $245... Weird.

I'll assume the $220 is the best price out there.
