I've just joined a local Mustang Club and at my 1st meeting I started asking questions about cold air intake kits. Long story short, JMS Chip & Performance Center was HIGHLY Recommended. The reasons stated were: Solid Product and Performance; Reliable; Helpful; Honest/Straight Shooting; Been In The Business For A Long Time, etc.
So I called and spoke to one of their reps about their "Performance Package 1" Kit, includes CAI Kit, XCalibrator and 3 Custom Tunes for $499.00 (add $25 if you want the XCalibrator 2). JMS Performance Package 1
I must say I was impressed with what I heard. They advised approximately 24 RWHP (20 RWHP is advertised on their web page for a "fudge factor".....). They also have other packages to choose from. JMS Performance Packages
I'm still a little confused/hesitant about 2 things: Why no heat shield around the air filter and why a complete intake tube is not needed. The rep advised that based on all of their dyno time, neither of the 2 added any performance. I realize there are other kits that do not replace the intake tube, such as steeda, but most I've seen (not all) have a heat shield.
I'm not experienced or very knowledgeable on this stuff, so I'm asking for input and thoughts from ALL OF YOU - PLEASE !!!!! I'm just trying to spend my money wisely on a quality product that I won't have head aches with. Planning on 87 octane tune.

I agree... I can't see how they can call it a cold air intake when it is exposed to all of the underhood heat.

The only person I have seen or heard of with a JMS intake is Nino. Maybe he can come in here and give his experience with the product.
From looking at their very professional website they look reputable to me.
I'm wondering though, if the charge motion plates, and pullies are their own design, or if they are basically Steeda's.

Who's Nino Where's Nino
Come on folks, help me out here.
Would you buy it or not, what's your thoughts
If not this JMS kit, should I go K&N, C&L, Steeda or MAC ?????
Anyone heard if and when the Preditor or X-2 will have a K&N specific tune ???
Which is most preferred - Preditor or X-2 and why ????

I have the JMS intake and srt tuner or the performance package 1.$499.00.
I can not complain about the performance, I did feel some difference.
Now I did take the car to the track and the only mod I have is the jms package.
82degrees with 90% humidity. bad night! best 1/4 13.91 101 mph.
Could do better with dryer conditions.
I am happy with the results.. My 2 cents worth
