Got the tuner for justin at Velocity mustang perfromance. Anyone know anything about his tune. Both jay at jlt and justin at vmp were very helpfull over the phone. As documented in another thread I started (here), I had some problems installing the tune. Hoping to work it out tomorrow or this weekend.

I ordered the JLT CAI a couple weeks ago and the Xcal 2 and tunes a week or so after that. It was no different than I've seen it before the falling off issue came up. I did do some of the fixes Jay suggested, including cleaning the inside of the filter and outside of the pipe with rubbing alcohol and then spraying with hairspray, and cutting a rectangle out of the end of the filter to fit it over the MAF and down on the tube a little further than you can without the cutout. The filter has several ridges running around the inside (the part the slides over the pipe is made of rubber) - I cut down to the third ridge. I've only driven 60-100 miles since the install (I live in Brooklyn and work in Manhattan and, unfortunately, during the week, the Stang sits in a garage and I take the subway - wish I had a daily drive). So far, everything seems to be staying on just fine, and is tight and sturdy. I'll keep tabs on it.

Only negative about the kit I've found so far is that the small black plastic tube stretching from the pipe to the left part of the engine (what does that do? ) was a little short - something I can probably go to home depot and get a little longer piece for 50 cents.

Not a bad choice at all.
There will be a total of 200,000 05 GT sales this year and only about.01% are on here.
To date there have been many JLT/X-II sales, but most have been non site members.

No worries
Jay

Ummmm, actually there will only be roughly 60,000 Mustang GT sales out of a total 200,000 Mustang sales. (based on estimates of a 30%-70% mix of GT's and V6's)

But hey who am I to niggle

Actually, nice perspective Jay

For one thing, the Xcal II is brand new, and only a few dozen have been sold to 05 owners, I've got serial number three. The tunes are actually the same, there's no difference between an Xcal II tune and an original Xcal tune, just the tuner. Which of course, the 2 as many more features. Most folks who wanted a tune already had one, and the Xcall came out a few weeks ago, so only people like me who just got there GT, or just came in the market or have been waiting on an Xcal II got one.

There will be many more, but the II is brand new, so no surprise a lot of folks don't have it yet.

Here's what I've got......

My XCal 2 arrived at my tuners shop last week. He also has my 4.10's sitting in a box on the floor, waiting patiently.

My JLT CAI is resting comfortably on the bed in my spare bedroom - since FEBRUARY! - along with the DTP tune on disc!

Finally, it's all supposed to go in next week. My tuner is a total detail freak and wanted to wait for the XCal 2 to come out for the data logging capabilities. He's set on doing lots of tweaking for that extra 3-4 hp!

This waiting is killing me. I'm dyin' over here.......

I'm running the JLT/SCT2 combo. I also got it from Velocity Mustang and I had my car tuned by Justin, believe me you will not be disappointed.

I'm running it too. Have had some troubles, documented here. Seem to have worked it out. Looking forward to when SCT enables a lot of the options.

Well i put it on last night. I only put in the 87 octane tune for now. but man you can feel the difference. I am going out of town for a week when i get bakc i will put in the 93 octane tune and try that out it drives much better more responsive and pulls much harder.

Glad you like it, I love the setup. I might try the 87 tune and run it again with the G-Tech to see how much of a difference it makes.

What gains are you guys getting with the SCT2 and JLT? I just ordered the SCT2 from a local tunner, Next week I go in for my baseline on the dyno.

What kind of increase would the SCT and JLT get me?? 20-25hp?

I'm going to be adding the procharger in a couple months, (In your opinion) is it worth spending the money on the JLT (Need your feedback please)?

And what is the cost of the JLT again?
