Thumbs down

Hey fellas (and ladies too) - just wanted to give a "thumbs up" to Jay at JLT and Brent at DTP Performance.

I received the JLT 91 octane tune for the Predator today and let me tell you all...
It kicks you know what. The car pulls like crazy after 3000 rpm and feels very responsive throughout all the gears.

I'm really glad I held out and waited for this tune because it is definitely worth it. I don't have much to compare to other than the regular 91 Performance tune w/out a CAI but I am confident the JLT probably is showing the best CAI numbers. I will get a Dyno hopefully next week to verify.

NO issues what so ever at this time. After a Dyno run and some miles I will report back.

Good Job JLT and DTP!!!

There is no 93 octane tune available yet? I ask because I am wondering if DTP solved the throttle hesitation problem seen in the 93 Octane tune and the C&L tune. From the looks of it, it seems that the JLT and C&L intake produce almost identical numbers. I am not trying to start a debate, but from my experience HAI's produce very very similar numbers.

Thanks Jay, I'm glad you waited and your happy.

As you see many are having isues with the Diablo tune down low and it's taking time for even Diablo them selfs to get it straight. These things take time and will be worth it the end.

BTW, there is a 93 tune, it's just J-stang can't get it so he got a slight adjustment to accomadate for using 91.

Great man, Thanks
Jay

max2000jp- there are 87-91-93 oct tunes avaiable now on the manual cars with computer codes cdc2 and cdc3. I haven't had any hesitation issues at all with my car(been daily driven for over a week now). Honestly didn't know that was an issue.

LilHog- these tunes can't be put on a disk and loaded to the Predator. You must follow the procedures on the Diablosport website and send your stock file to me to modify. Please see the post JLT CAI PREDATOR TUNE for more info.

They are being made as we speak. My guess is a few weeks or less.
As I do not believe that a huge blockade is needed. It is simple and designed to block the major heat from the header.

There is so much open area under these hoods, fresh air flow is not a problem, but this will help for sure.
As soon as I have a sample made I will post pics.
Thanks
Jay

Hey Jay, I bought one of your CAI a while back. I haven't installed it yet. I was waiting for the predator tune.

Question: Can I buy the predator from you with the JLT DTP tune in the unit? So I can plug in and be on my way.

It just seems to me that it would be a lot easier this way, rather than buy the predator, send in my stock tune to DTP and wait on them.

I have absolutely no experience when it comes to tuning cars and would feel much better just getting it from you instead of going through the hassel.

Nick,
See this is the differance between SCT and Diablo. It's not our policy, it's Diablos. They are the ones who make it so the stock file must be modified.

The resaon Steeda and C&L can sell a Predator with there tune ready to go must be $$ or volume. We have asked Diablo over and over again, "why can't we just make a set file and load them up on the Predators like the others?" and never really got a solid answer.

The process isn't as bad as it sounds and there's no down time on the car. Just maybe 1 more day or less for the tune to be returned.

My suggestion? If you want to plug and play now, but want to the abilty to make changes... Go SCT and get the PC interface cable. This way you can download the Xtreme software and make changes to the tune as you modify.

Let me know what you would like to do.
Jay

Nick - I sent Brent at DTP my backup file in the morning and got the modified tune back a few hours later. I was the first to receive the tune; therefore, nobody was ahead of me.

I'm sure their turn around time is very short.

It is not an extensive process as it may sound - sending him your backup file is easy. If you follow the Predator manual (manual for the DS Downloader) it will take minutes.

Good Luck-

Jay is right on here.

Not sure what the issue is with "down time" on your vehicle to use a CMR or DiabloSport custom tune in the Predator. If you read your user manual, it explains the process of saving your original back up, attaching it to an e-mail to send it to your tuner. The CMR dealer can modify the calibration and return it to you, while you’re driving the vehicle, this is easily done in a day, using the CMR Performance Tuning Software, a tuner has the ability to overlay two calibrations and make changes. No other tuning software has this feature.

When you install your CAI, you can have the custom calibration in hand and off your go. Now you have the ability to adjust, or fine tune the vehicle, based on where you live, atmosphere and altitude etc., the fuel you run, or maybe just the variation from car to car. Monitor and data log real time, on Predator or your PC/Laptop, all features that only exist in the Predator. In time there will no doubt be allot of CMR dealers offering calibrations, you can try one or none, but your options are always open with DiabloSport Predator.

Yeah I also received my heat shield the other day (BTW thanks Jay). I installed it and I think it's going to work out. I live in New Mexico, currently 93 degrees outside, and I need all the help with the heat I can get.
