I was already to go out to install my JLT CAI during lunch at work and low and behold the sensor is attached to the stock intake with torx screws . I have that type of screwdriver at home. . Oh well and I was all excited too. mmmmmmmmm Maybe I can tell my boss I'm sick and leave early *L*

Anyone know why torx screws are used instead of philips? torx screws are also used on the hard drive inside my tivo.

Just fyi, I think the only reason that they tell you to disconnect the fuel pump ect. is because they don't want the accessories draining the battery while flashing the PCM. Sudden power loss would screw everything up. It would never be a problem leaving that stuff connected unless your battery is almost dead when you flash.

They even used torx screws to secure my sun visors.

ford always uses torx screws.. i bought a complete torx set after I learned that for my Focus hatch back when i was a poorer college kid..

and actually i noticed C&L provides you with 2 Torx bits when you get the Street kit in case you don't have them.. 'nother little bonus

From what I understand, you need to pull the fuel-pump fuse and fan fuse, as ANY type of voltage spike during a reflash can be detrimental to the program status on the PCM. Since the PCM runs checks with other powertrain component modules while key is 'on', guess this minimizes the risk of 'spikes' during a reflash. Just remember to put those two fuses back in after reflash!

No need to pull the fuse. The SCT book covers many years and all vehicles. The fuse pull is for the older model Mustang.
Just leave all power acc. off.

Thanks

Jlt2

Jay,
Curious as to what difference in the HP gains with your product using the low to high octane? I have a Brenspeed canned 87,89 & 93 tunes. Initally ran the 89 tune, switched to the 93 & noticed an improvement in the low end 'pull'. JLT2+tune is my only performance mod.
Thanks,
Larry

Keeps the avg joe from messing with stuff that he shouldn't be, lol.
Just a thought. Also they reduce the risk of stripping

edit -- neil, what are you doing with the hd in the tivo? adding bigger ones?

Yes. I replaced the drive in my Directivo with a larger drive. I think it originally had a 40GB drive, i replaced it immediately with a 160GB drive. It will most definitely void your warranty. But you'll get to record over 110 hours of programming. It's not as simple as a direct replacement. You'll need a PC to comlete the job. PM me for details or Google it.

You would need to ask Brent. Our tunes are different then his.
We see about 20-22 RWHP from 87 and 28-32 from 93.

Thanks

Thanks Jay,
General ballpark was what I wanted to know anyway.
I'm sticking with the 93.
Excellent product, thank you!
