I don't have a JLT so I'm only going by memory, but aren't the 2 ends of the rubber tube shaped differently? The TB end being oval and the other end being round.
If that's the case, you can't put it on backwards.

y22kc, what do you mean by it won't clear the front of the TB? Is there anyway to modify it so it looks like the smaller version? Do you think JLT would send you the smaller tube?
Mine is round on both ends. If you look at the throttlebody, you'll notice on the right side where it extends out some. If you cut the tubing too much, it won't clear that. I did quite a bit of meassuring and really don't see the JLT clearing the power steering pump, even on the small hose pic (although that one is hard to tell because of the darkness.)

Hummm . . . . not sure I ever called it "crap" but I'm still here and still with the same opinion. The way I see it, a gain of .8 rwhp is not even close to the claim of 8+ rwhp that RPM Outlet is advertising. You may see it differently.

Now, if the TBS is providing some other benefit to the members, that they determine justifies the cost of the TBS, then I'm happy for them and I respect the choice they made.

Actually, calling it crap was paraphrasing not quoting, and I wasn't talking specifically about you. There were a hand full of people all on the same side of the fence. Nice of you to think that you were the center of the conversation, but you weren't.

As for the gains, it's not all about horse power. Does the 11ftlb rwtq not count for anything? Last time I checked, horsepower looked good on dynos, and torque won races.

Bottom line is exactly what you said though. If the people purchasing it are happy with it, then that is all that counts. I personally am content with the outcome of it.

My guess would be it's because of that torque increase that everyone likes the SOTP meter readings.

Hummm.... what happened to all the other people from the previous thread on this subject that were completely positive that the throttle body spacer was crap specifically designed to rip people off?

Thanks for the dyno ILB. I actually have been too busy to get over to my local shop to do some verify runs.

Hey Hawgman,
I was one of the people asking for dyno proof of what the ADVERTISEMENTS were claiming. Please re-read my comments. I am getting old and have been accused of forgetting some things BUT, I am sure I don't remember saying it was CRAP. I just asked the MANUFACTURER to provide dyno prove of what the members REAR ENDS on this board was saying. I would like to thank Jack for providing this dyno pull at his expense to give us the truth about this TBS. Again, I agree with Boss Hog that this pull came up short of the horsepower gain claimed by RPMOUTLET but I am impressed with the 11 lbs of torque gained. That, with the improved throttle response will make me consider purchasing one. For what's its worth I just purchased the Borla catback exhaust system and according to RPMOUT I should gain 17 hp do to the catback system verses no mention on any hp power gain from the axle back mufflers. I personally am buying them for the sound and not hp gain. I DON'T believe the hp gain claimed by RPMOUTLET. Again, I want to thank Jack for his efforts to bring us the truth and am NOT tring to start any fights with anyone but just try to bring out the truth. Which sometimes brings out tempers.

FWIW, since many people have said "thank you" - you're welcome. I get so much out of these boards; it's always a pleasure, not an annoyance, when I can give back. I had been intending to dyno my car anyway b/c I hadn't done it yet after adding some other mods. The TBS came out and many people raved. It was cheap and the claimed benefits seemed nice, so I figured I'd kill two birds with one stone - figure out what my car's making, and while I do that, figure out what the TBS is doing.

So thank all of YOU back!

I was mistaken. Hatchman contacted me and said the one I was looking at was on backwards. Glad you didn't cut it!

If after all the info here you just have to have one wait six months and they will sell for $19.95. It works every time. The truth gets out there and the price goes down after they try to sell them on E bay. I have Jays pipe and am not sure it would even work for me without some other mods.

Maybe they sent you the 62 mm TB instead of the TBS. Assuming you paid ~ $100, that'd be a bargain!
