Its basically a turbo that is belt driven
but 10 lbs of boost on the stock motor? I still think it will last, its all about tuning and stayin away from detonation. I was just lookin at a website (and i have a video) of a guy runnin 11 flat in a 04 v6 mustang with 17 lbs of boost (completely stock motor).

 

Awesome setup 05GT I pity the LSx/Evo/Sti that squares off against you at the strip.

 

very jealous.. who knows when mine will get here.. its been 4 weeks of waiting for the procharger. you lucked out on your deal, even though I paid quite a bit less for mine. I may been hitting you up for some install advice

 

there are a few things i t hink i can help ya with that are kinda tricky

 

Keep it under 4500rpm or so until you get it tuned! That's a beautiful setup, don't risk throwing a rod until you can get a custom tune on that beast.

 

Only thing I don't really like about this set up is the placement of the intake. It is going to be stinking in hot air. I know there is an intercooler, but it would be nicer to have cool air from the front of the car entering the blower. How hot does the surface of that blower get? My Vortech S-Trim that I had on my old 91 vert got so hot you couldn't hold your hand on it after about 30 minutes of driving.

I remember when I put the Vortech on my 5.0, man it was scarey how much more power there was! That thing must go like a bat out of H-E-double hockey sticks

I am still on the fence about the Super chargers. Having a automatic, I am not sure it ( or the torque converter ) can handle the boost in hp and especially torque that the procharger can put out. I am leaning tword the Saleen model since is only has 5psi of boost and around 400hp...

 

I'll be sure to let you know. When all is said and done I will be running a turbo on my auto putting at least (I hope) 600HP to the wheels. I'll let you know the limits of the stock tranny and converter!

 

got word from ATI that i have to update my predator programmer i got with the kit












45 more wheel HP with the new tune, and they say its 100% safe

05GT> I ordered a procharger too. do you have any install info or pics.. I need to get ready. I'm still a rookie at this.. so anything you can offer will help. I too got a great deal and they gave me the best deal out of many places I checked.. (because I'm poor also I can call them at anytime for help, (if anyone wants the info to buy one PM me) but I still wanted to see your install. maybe I can pick up somethin new of other peoples works..
