Instructions on swapping out throttle body
Does anyone have instructions on swapping out the throttle body? There is a spring loaded gear that I'm having trouble figuring out. Trying to set tension on the butterfly spring while putting the gear cover back on. Thanks for the help!
My LFP TB came with as spring winding tool...What brand TB are you dealing with? After you remove the round cap directly over the spring you wind it counter clockwise till the two tab's lock into the detent's. One tab is wider than the other so it will only lock in the correct position.
In the latest edition of MM&FF's there's an ariticle on p.124 titled "Sharp Spurs" tells you how to install the new 62mm BBK throttle body and BBK CAI. The info you need starts on p.126 with illustrations. Hope this helps ya out.
It's the factory TB, took it off, was going to get it powder coated by changed my mind and just going to get the LFP TB.
Can anybody scan the instructions or link my to a site? Am I going to have to get a tool for this?
Thanks!

You should be able to do it without the tool. The "tool" look's like a deep socket with four equally spaced tab's protruding from the bottom. Install the spring on the gear, there is a length of spring at the bottom that stick's out and goes into a hole in the gear (it lock's the spring onto the gear). Then install the large black plastic cover on the TB and srew it on leaving the small round cap directly over the spring off. The white plastic cap on top of the spring need's to be turned counter clockwise until the spring pop's up and the two tab's on the white plastic top engage the two detent's in the black plastic above the spring. One tab is larger than the other and likewise with the detent's in the black plastic. It does'nt take much force so the careful use off two small flat head screw drivers may work. once the white spring cap engages replace the small round black cover (it just pop's on) and you should be good to go...
BTW you will LOVE tthe LFP TB!! It is a work of art.
