Installed Predator/C&L

I just installed the C&L after I already had the Predator with the 93 tune. Man what a difference in sound with my exhaust at WOT. Loving the mods so far, now off for long tube headers.

Yup, installed the C&L tune and another custom tune for the C&L CAI. I feel the difference in the car, especially the throttle response. It just does not make me go WOW!

It has been a week now and I must admit, the more I drive the more I'm lovin' it!

The regular Diablosport Tune package comes with three tunes, 93, 91, and 87. The C&L tune file only comes with 2, 93 and 91.
The C&L tune is needed to properly correct for the larger MAF sensor housing that comes with the C&L Intake. Running the regular Diablosport program on the car with the C&L intake installed will cause the car to run lean, and turn on your check engine light (I know, I did it).

They're just giving you a heads up. And the way I would do it is this: You don't take anything off or detune it unless you're bringing in the car for something that will involve the cars computer.
In short it's unecessary (at least for me) to return to your stock tune if you're taking you're car in for strut mounts, transmision leaks, normal maintenance, etc, etc...

The C&L w/ predator tune instructions say to program the preformance tune and decrease the spark by 20% when running with 87 octane. I just installed the C&L CAI w/ predator tune and WOW what a difference
.
I can't wait to run this tank of gas down and run 93 octane & tune.

I have the C$L with Bassani axel backs. I put on the X pipe with comp cats yesterday and had it custom dyno tuned today make sure it would not lean it out plus i wanted a little more at the top. Here are the results...
Max Torque 297
Max Power 283
I had the rev limiter adjusted to 6500
I plan on getting some gears next....
AF 13.

What was ur rwhp before and after the x-pipe, I cannot see it well. Did it end up leaning out you A/F mixture?

He could of ran that with the diablo tune and not the c&l. Although the C&l website does mention if you have a xpipe with comp cats you should check your A/F ratio. I think he ran it with the C&L because that is what i had on there before.
We ran the dyno 8 0r 9 times until he and me were both happy. He was very presistant and wanted me to hit 290 with a reasonable A/F ratio. I assume my number could be a little better if the weather was not so hot.

I never had a dyno done without the XPIPE. Except when it was stock. When he first put it on the dyno it was lean 14.8 when he showed me this i freaked out!!!

I need to schedule some dyno time I guess. I have a C&L/Predator with an Off-road X and don't want to damage anything. For now, I will email Diablosport and see what they recommend.

good luck
I emailed Cole regarding an off-road X and how it affects the A/F ratio, below is his response:
The tune that you have now works very well with the x-pipe. What I would do if I were you, is to do a test. First start the car and plug in the predator. On the predator go to diagnostics and then to real time monitoring, then go to GAS DRIVEABILITY. This will show you’re LTF (long term fuel trims). These have to be recorded at 60mph, in overdrive, and on cruise control. You will have to drive 2-3 miles before the % will stop moving. Write these readings down please. You will have two LTF’s. When you have them please email me the readings.

I still wanted to do the dyno tune and was well worth the money....
I have a vid if i can figure out how to put it on this site..
I would be curious to see your dyno and compare curves...

that's cool if it doesn't affect your A/F and he is sure of that....

169Stang will host the video for you. I'll post I dyno up as soon as I get one so you can compare.
