Installed a Magnaflow Cat-back on the '05 GT
#1
Had the Magnaflow cat-back system installed on my 2005 Mustang GT today compliments of Ninosport.com and Houston Performance. We also did before and after dyno testing. Here are the results per Ninosport.com:
"Test subject: Stock 2005 Mustang GT with Automatic transmission, ~700 miles on the odometer
Baseline: 240 rwhp SAE
Magnaflow: 245 rwhp SAE
For an automatic transmission 20% is the accepted drivetrain loss factor, so 240 rwhp is exactly 300 bhp, which is inline with what Ford advertises. For those too lazy to do the math, with the Magnaflow cat-back the bhp rating is 306."
The new exhaust looks and sounds great!

Joe - I'd LOVE to hear your car!!!
Will you be going to the AutoRama at Reliant (Dec. 3-5)? I'll be showing my truck there again this year - I can probably get you some free tix, since I'm displaying.

The exhaust looks great. Nice to see people already putting the mods to the stang !!! Hey guys!! Sorry to change subject, but what I'm about to say has been bugging me for the last week ( Incase u couldn't tell by previous post)
Look how darn skinny the tires look on the pic above. If those pics don't convince people to get the 255/50/17's ,I don't know what will. How the heck are we gonna get all that power to the ground. Even the tread on the stock tires are horrible. Just my opinion!!!

Is it just a muffler and tip?

That's what I figured, but the under body shot showed brand new pipes. Then I realized, hey it's a brand new car, of course the pipes will look brand new too!

The left side appears to hang a little lower than the right side. Yes, we're talking about the magnaflow mufflers guys. they look really cool though.
whoa! Pony power seems to be on the low side! What's going on? Motor Trend was 267 at the wheels w/ an auto and I think I've seen a 279RWHP before.

No. The pipes between the cats and the new mufflers are new. As you can see in the photo below there are a lot less bends in the Magnaflow pipes (foreground) and the bends that are necessary are a lot smoother (read less restriction). PLus they are more more polished and look nicer.
