idle speed, in for service, need help ASAP

Guys,

got the stang in for service and I need some help ASAP. Is there a TSB out for the throttle body and or the idle speed sensor? My problem is a recurrent idle problem. car will drop to like 400 rpm then back up to around 900 then down again. this is intermittent, but it happens more often than not. dealer was able to make car reproduce problem, however car throws no CEL or code on computer. I thought there was as TSB on this. Need to call him back and talk to him. FYI, I did a TSB search and did searches on the system no results.

I took Doug from Bama's advice and tried cleaning the Throttle body with throttle body cleaner etc, didnt change anything.

thanks

Sam

These cars have the throttle body air bypass control valve? This sounds very typical of that problem. I'm just not sure if they're using that system anymore.

GT, I read your post a couple times, but my question was is there a formal TSB out for this condition, cause what is happening to me happened to you. my dealer said that "he didnt want to just throw parts at the problem"

I think the problem is what you had, I am just hoping that they recognize it.

Sam, unfortunately the answer is no.
i've searched SO hard for a TSB and found none.

all i could find was dozens of guys with the exact same problem :S
mine took 3 service trips and probably 4 months before the **** thing finally threw a throttle body related code that they finally budged and changed it under warranty.

I've never seen a TSB for it either, but if cleaning the TB doesn't work, step #2 would be to replace the throttle position sensor (TPS). I just cleaned my TB this weekend, and it worked like a charm.

I had this problem last summer/fall. My dealer replaced the whole TB unit.
