Bassani and SLPs are pretty similar if not identical I believe. Magnaflows seem to flow well and are different from the first two I mentioned. What ever you do, stay away from Dynatech cats, if you need to ask why, try PM'ing Don_W.

I have magnaflow highflows and they seem to flow pretty we'll. I would like to get a hold of some bbk highflow cats ( the ones that come on the h and x pipes with only metallic substrate inside). They probably flow better than most cats I would think. I wonder if they sell these cats by themselves?

The BBK cats probably flow the same as the Bassani cats, as sold with the stainless steel high flow x-pipe. I have them, and you can acually almost see through to the other side while holding them to your eye. Its the same metal substrate as used by BBK, it looks like a finely meshed metal filter.

I have the Magnaflow X with High flow cats and they do flow well!
They are a bit quiter that the others mentioned with normal driving.
They will wake up when you get on it thou!
I don't know if they are sold seperatly from the X. Mine is a 1 piece.

You should look up Pypes. The sell high flow cats for about 60.00 each. You can buy a Pypes high flow cats X pipe for around 300.00 or so. I have a Pypes axle back on my car and love it. All stainless and the fit it great.

Here's on link to one on Ebay.

I don't know who he is I just found a link and posted it.

The GT's come from the factory with high-flow cats.

How cheap? I might want it if you will ship it. I will send you a label to ship with.

Thanks

The factory cats are high-flow cats, same style as the Magnaflows I have. FYI there are only 2 cats on the S197 GT, as opposed to 4 or 6 with the OE exhaust on 99-04 Mustang GT's. You can't get more high-flow than this without going to an off-road pipe setup.

I believe that aftermarket high flow cats have less material inside the cat, letting air flow even more free then the stock ones though.

What kind of gain do you see with aftermarket cats?

I saw 6 rwhp going from the stock cats to an off road Pypes H pipe. Wasn't worth the noise and the smell to me. So obviously any type of 'hi-flow' cat would give me less than that. Not worth the price, IMO.
