I Need Help!!!!!!

I am sick of this (not having a first gear anymore) since the s/c has been installed. I have heard that relocation brackets would help but it spins soo bad by the time I hit 4k in first that I don't think they would do too much. My question is what is the BEST street tire as far as traction goes. I don't care how much or how quick they wear out. Also, do they make a drag tire for my wheels ( I have steeda ultralites, my tires are 275/40/18 nitto nt555 extremes I believe). Would that be weird if I ran only drags in the rear for a daily driver . I really wish there was just no boost in first because when it kicks in the car goes sideways, I was faster in first with just the cai Second all the way up is fine though. Please help me Thanks

Edit- I didn't want to start a new thread because I have been beating this s/c thing but I realy want to get this figured out. Thanks Again

-Adam

I am a good driver but I can't control the boost in first. Its so dam touchy. The only way to not spin in first is to shift below 4k and i don't like doing that. What are mt's

http://www.mickeythompsontires.com/s...ETStreetRadial

If you want to stick with 18's (which would be the easiest thing to do) look at the M/T street radial sizes, towards the bottom of the above link.

What tire are you running now?

I have the nitto nt555's, just curious hot is the wear with thos mt's. I didn't see my tire size on that page. The recommended tire size for my wheels is 275/40/18. These tires look like they will get the job done though

nitto 555's are summer tires. mt et streets or nitto 555r's are street slicks. HUGE difference in stickiness. mt et streets usually wear about 8000 miles. nitto 555r's slightly less grip but wear 12000 miles on average.

Yeah, the best alternative I saw was:

3782R P265/40R18 27 X 10.5pR18

Not sure how wide your rear wheels are, or what kind of stance you want, but the offer the 305 to.

P305/35R18

I think those would be best. His Ultralites should be a 9 or 10 so a 305 should fit perfect with would also be a 27inch tall tire but 12.5 inches wide which would give him much better traction and look way cool

Also UCA and UCA Mount and LCA Bracket will help and an Anti Roll Bar. The BMR Extreme Anti-Roll Bar is good

I've said this before, but Nitto makes junk street tires. Buy a good street tire and you should have little issues with traction.

You also need to adjust your pinion angle and instant center. The instant center can be fixed with relocation brackets. Pinion angle adjustments will require an adjustable UCA.

Are you talking about these nittos http://steeda.com/products/nitto_nt_555r_extreme.php

I was thinking about giving these a shot http://steeda.com/products/nitto_invo.php

Look at Kuhmo MX's for an affordable true street tire.

Nittos are cheap tire for a reason. 555R's are terrible drag radials. If you are going to run a DR's look elsewhere. M/T, M&H, and BFG are all light years better.

relocation brackets should help

that and shifting below 4K in first then

dude, you went from N/A to a blown car - just make some adjustments (change for the set-up of the car) and focus on the sweetness of that blower

Yes those would be the ones. And the invo's are still just summer tires. Out of the 2 the 555r's are stickier. What you gotta look for is the compound rating or treadwear #. The lower the number the stickier. Invo's are 220-260 555r's are 100 (big difference). mt et streets are 100 m&h are 100.

Are you saying this because you have actually used them or you just don't like the brand. As I've said before mt et streets and m&h DO hook better but only have a lifespan of about 8000 miles. 555r's hook good considering they last 1.5 times longer and definently way better than a standard high performance summer tire. There are LOTS of people that run them and have no problems. If you can afford a new set of mt et streets or m&h tires every summer they will give you the best performance.

Do any of the MT street radials fit on the stock 18'' rims?

I've used them both personally. Both the 555 (on a previous vehicle) and 555R. I used a buddies set of 555Rs and they didn't hook on the street when my Stang was N/A. I wasn't impressed with them at the track either. They only cut .1 off my 60' compared to the stock Pirellis. In my experience, the 555R IS NOT better than a GOOD max performance street tire.

Wow. And I've found the complete opposite. I can straight drop without heating from 3500 and hook. If I warm em up I can drop around 4500. I sure couldn't do that with any summer tire.

Well if anything being that they are that cheap you can always try them out and if they don't work for you you can burn them off and buy some mt et streets or m&h's next year which you would have to do anyway lol.

It is funny how people have different experiences with tires........ I think alot depends on surface quality & temperature of the road surface among other things. For example I've had pretty good luck with my 275/40/18 Nitto 555s, where as the BFG 275/40/17 drag radials I have are not much noticeably better.

Are you running the Kuhmo's?
