I installed my CHE k-member w/torque limiters

I was going to do my motormounts today (not as easy as Tacobill makes it look lol). But once I had it all jacked up and had a look underneath at access to the bolts attaching the motormount bracket to the block I said "f..k that" and installed the k-member and torque limiters instead. I'm getting to old (44)to be rolling around under a car and my old body will pay the price. But all in all a fairly simple install. My wife bought me a matt for laying on under the car and it is a life saver, no more banged up hips and shoulders.
Oh and a tip for anyone doing this mod-Loctite Blue on the k-member to chassis bolts and a bit of anti-seize compound on the torque limter bolts going through the bellhousing into the block.

That's a good mod. Really tightens everything up and you should be able to shift quicker with less bind.

Oh, btw you should try rolling around under your car when you are 60.

Yeah I shouldn't complain. I'm in pretty good shape but I have long hair and even tied back it still manages to get in the way. I used to just put it in a ponytail but now I do a bun kind of thing and that works much better.

Well, how does she feel now? Does the car rock a bit more when you blip the gas?

I really want that muscle car feel. I want the car to shake when I hit the go pedal. I'm assuming this will help (plus help with shifts). I plan on getting it anyway, but I'm still interested.

I just installed Prothane motor mounts on my car this weekend. The difference between the stock mounts and Prothanes is huge. The entire car literally torques to the left when I rev the engine. Before it was just the engine that moved. Aside from that I do feel a little more vibration in my seat and on the brake pedal when sitting idle at a light. When driving though it feels just like stock no extra nvh. Just a very "solid" feeling.

I assume the difference with the K-member/torque limiters is similar.

That's what I was figuring, and why I was planning on going with them. They're easier to install. Eventually I'm getting a whole new K member, so no reason to go through the install of motor mounts now.

I have the torque limiters, k member brace and the prothane motor mounts. I also have different shocks, springs and struts. I also have a 1 piece aluminum driveshaft, lower controls arms and adjustable panhard bar. My buddy who has a stock 07 doesn't think that mine rides much worse than his. NVH, yes alittle more but the suspension is tight and precise.

I can't comment on how it feels as it's still the dead of winter and the car won't be driven for another 3 months or so.

Expect to see an increase in NVH. But I haven't missed third gear since I installed the K-member brace and torque limiters.

I could feel a little more vibration though the shift handle when it was idling but no big deal.
I have a question for you guys with the torque limiters. The stock bolts going through the bellhousing and into the block stuck out through the block about 1/4". There were 2 pairs of bolts that came with the limiters and the instructions said to use the short ones for a V8 manual car which I did. But the bolts are recessed in the block about 1/4". I was wondering if this was ok. The long bolt seem like the threads would bottom out before the eyelet would be against the bellhousing. I contacted CHE and am waiting for a response. What did you guys notice when you installed yours?

I have the K-member brace, torque limiter straps, and alum 1-piece driveshaft. I still get a clanking noise in my rear end at times. Seems like driveline slop to me. The alum DS helped it, but it's still there. Anyone have clanking in their rear end? Can this be adjusted out?
