OHH myyyy! I could NOT stop smiling watching THIS thing. Now THAT sounds like a hotrod. Not many people will even try if you run around in that thing. Beautiful sounding. Yes, a little noise underhood, but if you've been next to serious hotrods before while idling, this is what they sound like.

I would just love to know some perf numbers. 1/4 times, and dyno sheets would be great. It sounds good for at least 400, but tough to go by sound alone. I also wonder if other things needed to be done like 42lb injectors or anything else.
Just awesome though, I like!

This is very offtopic but, did anyone watch the video with the cobra mustang smoking the civic and the cavalier? it is pretty funny. left column, third one down

Yeah... I saw that vid it was pretty funny.

But back on topic... anybody have a rough estimate of what cams would go for? and how muhc installation is? I have no clue how much something like this would cost.

What did it put down? The valvetrain noise doesn't sound any different than a big cam'd LS1 car. But man it changed the character of the mustang....wow.

That sound rocks, does not sound like my present car now thats for sure. I don't see why that wouldn't work with your planned SC.

There not open on Sunday... I'm call'n them first thing monday morning. I want to do the head's and the cam's at the same time. The P&P on the head's from them is around $1700 dollar's. I've got a feeling the cam's are going to be high at first like all the other part's have been. I'm going to take a guess that head's and cam 's together are going to be in the $2700-$3000 dollar range... I want to know if they have worked out the tunning required and what they came up with on the variable cam timing?? Of corse dyno #'s for sure also.

sorry I haven't been on here to answer the questions

the noise you are hearing are SOLID LIFTERS

they are a lot louder than the already loud lifters that come in the cars stock... however, I know BBR is working on making them quieter before they are released. Shouldn't be long.

Kind of odd that a variable valve timing camshaft would idle so rough.... I mean, what's the point of VVT if it's not going to be smooth through the whole range?? Sounds cool though.

Anyway... I was running around with the stereo off the last few days for no particular reason. And I notice a clikety clickety noise at idle. Is that the "already loud lifters" mentioned above. Does everyone have that?

if you'd look directly above your post... you'd get your answer.... but obviously no one reads the threads before they post.

great.... thank you everyone... now about that rough idle.... I still don't understand its purpose with a variable valve camshaft. Maybe the camshaft can only be "varied" a wee little bit? or is the BBR cam static, simply tuned for high rpm??

btw, anyone know the lift and duration of the stock cam at idle and at 6000rpm?

Yep, I'd agree that the ticking noise is a solid lash lifter and even though the car sports VVT, I bet the lobe seperation on these cams are way different (which not knowning for sure, but being that they are SOHC engines, the VVT only retards or advances the cam timing on the whole), also does the exahust have a cross over and mufflers or is it true dual exhaust and no mufflers?

The added noise under the hood was due to three retaining clips coming off during the run. Seems they were testing some "other" valves in the car and it ended up trashing the heads.

As for pricing, they are going to produce three versions of the cams. Mild Street, Street / Strip and Race (The ones on the video that are the most aggressive). Pricing is approx $825.00 for a set of either Street or Street / Strip cams. These will be availale first and the racing cams later after some fine tuning.

With the heads we are looking at approx $2500.00? They did say that after some core inventory has built up the cost of the cams may drop a bit.

When you look under the hood its supercharged!!! some of the added sound is the huge fuel injectors opening and closing. Ours are noisy too. My dad thought that my valve train is falling appart on my car but thats the typical 4.6. These modular motors are noisy. But yeah the retaining clips falling off was most of the noise. But yeah that is one sick cam.

The video I saw didn't have a supercharger. It DID have the intake painted silver, but I didn't see any supercharger on it. Anyone else see one?
