Stock Pirelli P-Zero Nero tire vs Mickey Thompson 3743 Biasply 26X11.50-17LT ET Street tire.

They are basically drag slicks with 2 little grooves cut in em to make em street legal. These tires weigh probably half as much as the stock ones do, they're not steel belted. And they're considerably wider, a whole 11.5 inches wide. Scary thing is this tire fits on the stock rim. $185 each shipped from Summit

Your drivetrain should have no problem with them, we haven't, we are still running the stock drivetrain from crankshaft/flywheel to factory rims. We found the best RPM to launch with having stock gears is 6500 or put your rev limiter up to 6800 and launch off of it.
Bascially equals 1.63-1.65 60ft times with a manual.

These were tires that I borrowed from another TMS member last year. I made a run with them at 15 psi. That is the stock 05 bullitt rim.

Summit for around $185 shipped (each). These tires are only good for the track and that's it. If you want to race on these get 2 spare rims and change them out at the track. That's what I'm doing. Bascially the spare tire is comming out and these 2 tires are going in the trunk for the whole summer.
Your not gonn a ride with em in the trunk all summer daily driving are you? they will smell up the interior.
Yeah, I have the bullitts I got from ebay for the snow tires, just take two off in the summer.
Will be taking them off the rims anyway to change thier directions so I can cross them to the other side next winter.

I had those tires at first as well. It was when I went to the ET Street Radials and the 6000rpm launches that tore up the stock diff. and the Auburn Pro after 4 passes. The only diff that's held up is the Tru trac. The clutch will begin to go away quicker as well.

It's dam tough to get two mounted drag tires in the trunk!! I ended up folding the back seat down, and putting one in there and one in the trunk.

If you plan on driving to the track on them take it easy around the curves because the side to side flex of an 11" tire on an 8" rim is scary at times. The tire sticks but the rear of the car feels like it's sliding due to to sidewall flex.
As you can see from this pic you don't get an optimal footprint due to the narrow rim.
