$800 to $1000 will be my guess and I'm also betting that it comes in a 20 HP tops. I think I'll wait and buy a used one for half price.

Looks like delete plates are part of the intake design. If so, that probably accounts for almost half of their claimed horsepower (40hp =~35rwhp), which brings the true gains to something that may be reasonable (e.g. ~20rwhp). Not out of line for $800 compared to other bolt-ons.

If it comes in around $800 and proves out at 40hp everybody's gonna want one. Thats about $20/ 1HP. I think I'll wait untill the market dries up a bit though and buy cheap.

Looks good, but I want to see an independent dyno results. I harken back to the claims of other power adders (BBK anyone). I would not mind dropping the money for one if, if mind you, if it gives us the 40 odd hp gain.

Now if you add this to the stock heads and cam, what if you add this to say bama chips cam/mod? or BBR head/cam deal? Or will this cause Bama to re grind a cam and tune for it?

I am not really good with the idea of pulling heads off right now. I can deal with a new intake power adder. I would like to be at or around 400NA hp at the fly wheel. I like that better than a 5K blower.

anyway my .02

I'd sign up for that package too. But, like Galaxie posted, I'd like to see some numbers and even more important, some other manufacturers who could provide some competition.

yeah, I saw that on Friday and talked to a guy there. They're a subsidiary of Crane, and this and new cams could be a nice little package. It does remove the CMPs, and that piece was THE prototype, he said. I never asked about prices though. Since it replaces the CMP there will definitely need to be a re-tune with it.

I had the FRPP intake on my '96 GT and it helped a lot, but the increase was more like 25 HP and it was above 4000 rpm. It had the Cobra TB and new injectors. It really woke up the old '96.

In terms of power I would guess this one would do about the same. Maybe 25 HP. Maybe some more torque. As long as the price is not too outlandish, it should be a good mod.

I'd be really curious is how accurate those hp predictions are. Sounds like a good piece if they can deliver. Time (and a dyno) will tell! Ultimately 40 hp for $800 sounds completely reasonable to me. Wonder how it'll affect torque. ANY PREDICTIONS?

With longer and larger diameter runners, you will probably see a big gain in the low end department and some gains in the high end department.

If it does half of what they theorize, it's not a bad deal. A set of longtubes is in that same range (20ish H.P.) for about the same amont of money...IF that's what they go for.

If they want northwards of $1200 then I'd be gun-shy and keep my wallet closed.

Me neither. And I'm pretty tapped considering I just bought a pair of '05s...

The car feels like a monster when the turbos kick in. In everyday driving, it's a docile as my wife's mini-van. But as soon as the turbos spool up... hold on for a ride is all I can say. I have not taken it to the track yet as I only have 350 miles on the engine. I've only had it up to about 5 pounds boost and it pulls as hard as it did when I had a ProCharger D1SC on it a couple of years ago making 14-psig boost. It's pretty much a sleeper because of it's stock appearance, except the cowl hood. Did I mention the twin air-to-air intercoolers and progressive methanol injection I have?? Honestly, I cannot wait to get a couple thousand miles on the drivetrain so I can hit the track.... and race a GT500.... with a lowly 190-hp (factory rated), stock looking, '87 305 IROC-Z.... The only problem is I enjoy driving my '05 GT so much that it's gonna be a while.... ironic, isn't it??

And you guys wouldn't believe how similar the third gen Camaro is to the '05-'07 Mustang, but that's another topic.

Sorry for the hijack. I couldn't resist. No more from me. Let's get back on track....

Hopefully this intake isn't another BBK TB scam

Wow... Nearly 16 grand and it doesn't come with a tranny. They say if you can't buy one, build one... At the prices they are asking it would be cheaper to buy one ADMs' and all!!!

Would this intake mate well with a SC? Or is this route geared more towards a N/A car?

that intake would work for all the s/c's except the obvious roots style that replaces the intake.

wonder how much it'll be...

Interested - especially looking to see dyno numbers with just the manifold addition and also with a tuner/CAI combo....if you could pick up 60rwhp with the manifold/tuner/CAI combo that would be a great mod package.
