I've been thinking about raising mine, but I'm concerned about engine damage at the higher rpm's. Afterall, Ford set the redline at 6000 for a reason. Am I being paranoid?
Mine is set at 6700/6800...Steeda /SCT. As long as you are otherwise "Stock" i doubt I'd worry much about raising it. And even though there isn't a lot of extra power up there, you can "Run through" the sweet spot in the rpm curve by raising the limit a little.

There's no point to raising the redline, there's no extra power up there on these motors.

your right there is no real extra power but the rmp`s climb real quick when you have a tune so it nice to have the redline rasied so you dont hit the stock readline.....

Mine is set at 6700 but I shift around 6300-6400 rpm. Hitting the rev limiter is kinda embarrising.....but the ricer crowd might think the stuttering noise is COOL and you had to spend a few hundred bucks to find a custom part to make that sound.
