How many miles when you got your tune?
#1
Those with tunes, how many miles did you have on your Stang when you got your tune? I really want to get one, but I only have 2200 miles on my car. I feel like it's not even broken in yet and it would be a bad idea to start messing with the CPU and A/F ratio and all that.
What do yall think?
It's going to take forever to rack up, say 10,000 miles. I only drive like 10 miles a day...:P

I had 15 miles on the car when the tune went in. Drive home from the dealer with a pass thru town and that was it. Got home and the underdrive pulleys and the CAI went on along with the the tune. I don't feel that the tune or modifications have anything to do with breakin. Put the tune in and start modifying as soon as you want.

My tune would have gone in right away, but I waited til I had 1,000 miles on the clock before I would put the car on the dyno for runs.
The tune is not going to hurt the car as long as it's done properly.

How do you feel about canned tunes? By "canned", I mean ones you buy off the internet as opposed to custom dyno tunes.

My opinion is that canned tunes are good especially from highly recommended people here i.e. Doug at Bama, Brent at Brenspeed and Lidio at Alt Auto.
To be on the safe side do what I did. After you install the tune and everything seems to be fine take the car to a local dyno shop and spend the $100 to check the A/F over and see if there are any tweaks that can be done before you race or run the car hard. I'm not saying a complete re-tune just some minor A/F or timing adjustments to make it better if need be.
Added: That way you will feel more comfortable like I did that nothing will happen if you go WOT.
