How many miles before you had to replace the stock tires?

I ask because I'm eyeing different wheels and tires for "Thor". My stock tires have 18,000 miles on them (took delivery on 8/1/05), whats everyone else seeing?

I think that's kinda a tricky question..........
I have around 9500 miles on my car, and my front tires look like new. My rear tires are almost bald though...... not sure how that happens

I have 30,000 km (~18,750 miles) on them and I switched them rear to front. Now I have almost new tires in the back and very good ones in the front.
I might have to install winter tires soon, but I'm still keeping the OEM Pirellis for next year. I'm sure they'll last until next winter (30,000 miles in total).
P.S.: I don't race and I've only got 3 or 4 burnouts on record so far...

34,957 miles and they have not reached the wear indicators yet, but they have no grip left. They are terrible from a stop in the rain. Bought the car Feb of 2005.
Oh ya and I did a track day during the MCA 30th at barber motorsports park, I did 6 20 min sessions if I remember right.
Now to talk the wife into new rims and tires....

The stock Pierrelli's are total crap.
They have no grip and when it's wet, they are positively dangerous.
Furthermore, they're practically indestructible. Did they decide to make them out of the hardest rubber they could find?

For daily driving I'm very happy with the Pirelli's.Also, I've never EVER had my car hydroplane and I have driven way faster than I probably should have in the rain plenty of times. Even with 30K miles on the tires, they still handle very well in the wet.
Yeah, it's called right foot meets the floor defect. Well known problem among Mustang owners. Sometimes causes uncontrollable smiling, yelling, whooping, and lots of smoke coming from the rear tires. Also seems to attract law enforcement, so if your foot has this defect, be careful!

I have the same problem, bought car in Jan. 05, have 35,2xx on it and very little grip in the rain from a stop, way too easy to get the back end to squirm a bit or kick in the traction control. In the rain I have to stay under half-throttle otherwise it'll break loose even when already moving. In the spring, the tires are getting replaced no matter if they still have some tread left. I guess I know already what some of my tax refund is going toward.
