Pretty high actually, but as others have mentioned, its a pointless endeavor unless the engine is tuned to take advantage of the added RPM, but its nice to know that you have alot of protection on an over rev (sounds really nice though as you shift from 4th to 2nd at over 100 ) IIRC, Ford likes a nice stable valvetrain at least 400 rpm past the rev limiter.

short shift and you are landing below the torque range, lugging (or not getting the best) out of the engine on the next gear.
I went from 12.90x's to 12.72x's shifting at 6500 instead of 6100.
I know I'm brushing off some thick dust on a very old thread... Wanted to say thanks for that info, I've experimented with shift points but never put dyno or ET numbers to it. Nice to see some good info provided. What you say about revving high enough to shift back into the "meat" of your powerband makes a lot of sense.
