I was just wondering how many people have had an engine failure, blown clutch, transmission or rearend since owning their car? I'm just talking about everyday driving (but getting after it) not spending lots of time on the dragstrip.

i blew out my rear end after 25k miles of aggressive-as-heck driving with aftermarket 4.10 gears.

the bearings failed first, then the chatter broke some teeth off the gears, then the rear end slop caused some grinding on the left rear brake disk and speed sensor failure. total cost was about 1200 to fix.

I would have to blame my frequent trips to the track, street racing, and daily powershifting for this, however, and the fact it took 25000 miles for anything to go wrong on the car the way i used it and modified it, impresses me.

wow, 25000 miles in the first year and you're using a 410 diff? Thats a bit overboard.

I'll base my gearing decision on which method of FI I finally decide upon. If I go with a positive displacement blower (most likely), I'll stick with factory ratio. Lack of traction would be tough. If I go centrifugal, it'll likely be 4.10's to get into boost/powerband more quickly. In the unlikely event of a turbo, I guess it would depend on the setup.

Linda, do you have any pics of that Roush- specifically a sideshot with your "dubs"
