you hit it at 6700 Wow!!! I got scared when i hit mine cause the gas sh
ut down,
I hit mine passing on a narrow lane today. I think it is set at around 7k with my diablo tuner. Forgot to shift in time, thought I needed the extra push in second to pass. Scared the hello out of me. But was going fast enough to coast around the other guy.
its a scarey sinking feeling - freaked me out the first time I hit it.. thought I had really blown it.
in 2nd gear you can hit the 6200 rpm limit pretty fast, but the rev limiter is there to stop you doing damage to the motor and its set low with a considerable cushion.
You wont have any problems. Even so - I now watch my rpms closely in second to make sure I dont do it again.

I did that once when I had my Cobra and I thought for sure I just blew the motor. I had never come close to that happening before and i was trying to get onto the freeway and was running out of on ramp when it happened. The turd in the right lane never gave me a chance to get on and had the nerve to give me a dirty look when I squeaked in front of him.
I've hit mine in 2nd once too. My son was like, "Dad - did you kill it?"
At first I did get nervous, but realized within a few seconds what I had done. I've come close since, but watch it and shift just in time.
It sure is fun to jump on it though!!!

First time I hit it was the second day I had the car. I was a little slower than the lightning acceleration in first gear. Second time I was too busy sliding it around a corner, and just forgot to shift.
