Well today on my way up to K&N to drop my car off for some R&D of an intake I hit the 1000 mile mark. That went by fast, oh well, I just cant seem to get out of my car. On the way up I had some kids (16-18) in a Matrix checking out my car as I passed them. Several miles down the road I noticed them in my rearview trying to catch up and making the same lane changes. I let up a bit and traffic also started to bog up and slow me down anyway. They pulled up on my right and I noticed them all bust out their picture phones and start snapping away. Shots from the side, from the back...and they tried to pull ahead to get some shots from the front I guess..but they couldnt keep up and I pulled away. When I noticed them trying again, I figured they wouldnt give up and this was starting to get dangerous since it was sprinkling on and off, so I backed way off and let them come up on me and pass and I saw everyone except the driver turn and peer out the rear window and start with the cameras again. It was funny, almost like little kids pressing their face up against the window to stare at the puppies in the store. Well they had their pictures so I got back on the gas and continued on the way.

I rented one of those this past summer while I was in Kansas, I sounded nice, but didn't seem to get anywhere quicker than my Pilot does. And boy does it drink gas!

its part of the deal they get to use our cars for R&D and we get a free intake when its done and a rental car while they have ours for 3-4 days.

Jrabbit he said its because he hasnt been able to find any 05 Mustang rentals out there...I dont know if they have to use that specific rental place but if not maybe you could use your feminine powers of persuasion to get them to rent from RSM.

hey dallas did you get to choose which rental you got?

hey socal it is more like 4 days but thats in the R&D phase...they need cars for testing when they are done with the finished product and then they would only need the car for 1-2 days tops.

Mine took 5 days.

rrobello: Yeah, I asked for a Magnum with a hemi but all they had was a V6 Magnum and then he asked if I wanted a Durango w/hemi or 300C w/hemi. He asked if I had a car in mind he would check their rental place and see if he could get it.

I didnt get a choice, probably because I dropped it off right before they closed, and I didnt think about it when I was on the phone with Dino because I wasnt expecting traffic to be so bad, and I guess he figured to save time he got the rental before I got there. I wasnt going to make a fuss, nor am I driving way back out there to swap the rental for another day or 2, so whatever, but what is with rental places wanting to dump this Durango on everyone, I rented a car back in Oct. and each place I called said "We have the new Durango, would you be interested in that?" I ended up with a 1500 with a Hemi...huge difference in power from 1500 to Durango even though they both have a HEMI. The weight wasnt a huge issue because I got the SuperCrew Quad Cab with the Extended bed, it was huge and much faster than this Durango. I would've loved the Magnum or 300 oh well. I just want my car back now. I am having withdrawals.
