So Ive had LT headers installed for close to 2 months, and about a week ago, I noticed a little sort of grinding noise that seems to be happening in the centre of the car, in front of the shifter. BTW, I have an auto.

The noise happens under light acceleration. Its been getting progressively worse so I figured I should stop driving it. I started the car up today and I could distinctivley hear it very loud from both inside and outside of the car. (before i could only hear it inside) It made the noise at idle as well, however the noise had quieted after the car ran for a few minutes.

The noise isnt coming out of the exhaust pipes which leafs me to believe that its not the header noise. It seems to be strongest at the mirrors of the car from the outside. It isnt as much of a grinding noise as it is a scratching noise that isnt constant, it alternates about every half second.

Also there is a little tick that i hear about every 10 seconds but I think that is normal.

Anyone have any insight as to what it could be?

Did you install the Steeda Race motor mount's? It may be the driverside header slightly rubing the steering rod. Mine had a slight rattle at certain RPM's because of this. The Steeda mount's solved the problem as it stoped the motor from torqueing up like it did with the soft stock mount's...

The clicking noise wasnt the one i was worried about, but good to know.

As for the exhaust they charged $1000 cdn for the install. Most likely overpriced, but that way if it breaks its thier problem.

1000 for just the install, but remember thats canadian. He got me the headers and exhaust but since the owner is friends with my dad, we havent determined the price for the components as his invoice had a nice markup that he charges.

Well started up the car this morning and looked to see if it was hitting the steering rod, it wasnt. The sound seems to be coming directly from the engine, but more towars the back of it.

So I am just gonna take it in. Thanks for the help vegas and ghost
