HELP. New '09 in need of Strut tower brace.

Just purchased an '09 GT/CS Conv. I want to find a strut tower brace that will fit over the intake plenum cover as part of the Ford Appearance package. Ideally a brace that will not need spacers to clear the cover. Any ideas?

Thanks.

BMR makes a brace that fits over the Ford plenum cover. I used to own one but I sold it here a few months ago.

Gary, Thanks. I want to stiff'n up the chassis before I start tweaking. Much appreciated.

Any one else know of others? Steeda or Scott Drake possibly. Also must fit under the stock hood.

Just curious, Steeda mentions that theirs needs slight modifications to fit. Anyone know what these modifications are?

08 Bullitt brace which happens to be the same as the FRPP V6 brace clears the cover with
room to spare.

Thanks guys. Much appreciate the pics and links. Read about the V6 braces having more clearance. Interesting.

If anyone has more info. keep posting.

Happy New Year!

I like the fact Alutec used all the mounting bolts on the towers to fasten their brace .

The S197 does not need a strut tower brace like the SN95s so any brace like the FRPP is plenty.

I've heard mixed things about STBs on 05-09s. Is the general consensus that it's a good mod for a convertible, but on a coupe it's really just an appearance mod?

Nastystang113 I know a little about chassis set up , and if you corner hard enough , (like I do ) you need a beeter brace than a show barce . I have a Ingalls Eng. brace and I love it , square tubinig that doesnt give like round , and it is a double as well .

Me too and you better have a suspension far from stock to be pushing this chassis hard enough to actually make it worth the cost. I think it's pretty safe to say that most people won't ever push their car or even have the ability to push it that hard. If you are able to make good use of it than that's awesome, I applaud you! Do you have any pictures of your set-up? I saw that you posted that Ingalls had used your car for testing. I'd love a nicely done Mustang with a SLA set-up and a Watts Link/Torque Arm...

NastyStang 113 I have a old post that shows both my Ingalls brace , and the WMS intake set up I installed , it was over year or beeter back though . I was involved with the testing at Ingalls , and I cant go into detail ( as there request ) , but I can tell you the testing they did , proves it is a worth while mod and a coupe . Trust me there is plent of flex between those shock towers , in every day driving to make it worth while .

They seriously advertised that brace in a engine bay that looked like shiiiiiieeeet. I've seen cleaner rally cars.

I have a Ford OEM one and fits perfectly over the plenum, you can get this style at JLT performance Parts.com
