Is is normal for hear a rubbing sound when I turn the steering wheel left or right? If not normal, any suggestions of what might be wrong. I will take it to the dealer to have it checked out, but I wanted to have an idea of what the problem might be.

Thanks for the help.

Sounds like it is coming from the steering wheel. When I am either stationary or moving, when I turn the wheel (either way) there is the rubbing noise.

is it just the tires rubbing on the ground? Not trying to be smart here, just want to make sure it is a rubbing noise. So far the only noise I know of is the popping noise caused by the strut bearings which there is a TSB for.

I never thought the movement of the tires would make such a loud rubbing sound, however that could be the problem. Is there anything in the steering column that would make such a sound?

I have a sound when I turn my wheel too. It actually sounds more like a whine, like power steering fluid low sound. But I know that isnt it. It ONLY does it after the car is warmed up. I hear it when making slow manuevers in a parking lot - maybe because I am moving slow I can hear it. I read a thread a long time ago on this forum where folks heard a similar sound, and they claimed it was thin junky rear end fluid. Once good fluid was added, the sound went away. I dont know how rear end fluid can affect a sound coming from turning my wheel...? but that is what it said. I have yet to get it fixed, so I dont have a solution. Does yours sound like that? Anybody know what mine could be?
