Headers And X-Pipe Question

After for the last 3 months deciding if I want FRPP headers and X-pipe verses JBA product on my '08 GT 'vert, I decided to go with the Ford stuff. After all, they know it better than anyone else. Anyway, I'm here to ask, my more knowledgable and seasoned Mustang bretheren , what are the gains and losses (if any) by installing the above exhaust components? I'll admit, I'm gullible. My friends convinced me to buy these items when I picked up the vehicle, but i am cluseless as to what real world benefits there are. Soooo-

1: Are there any noticible horsepower gains? (especially for those who may have a cold air intake)

2: Will this setup make it louder? if so, by how much?

3: Will I need to or should I modify any parameters to squeeze a little more horsepower out of it?

Any help is definitely appreciated.

I have JBA shorty headers with the FRPP X pipe and I probably picked up 5 to 10 HP and the headers didn't make the car any louder.

You can hear it if you click the link below~

Thanks 'ol' school'. Much respect to those who come from the carb and choke days. By the way, I have seen your posting on youtube in the past. very nice, and naturaly, I am excited for a little more 'buck' in the saddle(driver seat). okay, enough mustang anecdotes, I have an appointment to set at my dealer to have this stuff installed Monday!

You should see approx a 5-15HP gain the real benifit is in the Torque gained average is 20-25 Ft. Lbs

2: Will this setup make it louder? if so, by how much?

The exhaust note will get a bit raspier may be slightly louder not much if any at all

3: Will I need to or should I modify any parameters to squeeze a little more horsepower out of it?

Should not require any tuner changes. Call your tuner to be sure

Any help is definitely appreciated.

Thanks for the heads up! I'll post dyno results when available. Anyone have dyno / e.t. results with the above set up?

Well, after a trip to the dyno at HiTech Motorsport in Elk River, Minnesota and 2 hours tuning, this is what I started with, including FRPP headers and X-Pipe: Horsepower=275.43 Torque=290.15 (not bad for an automatic)
And the end result after adjusting cam timing, spark, and enriching fuel:
Horsepower=280.64 Torque=301.78

I am unsure of what my drivetrain is canibalizing between the crankshaft and my wheels, but if I were to attempt to hazard a guess as what its making under the hood, I would estimate 320-330 horse and well over 340 for torque. My apologies by the way for not establishing a baseline prior to installing these parts.

Any chance you could post both dyno sheets, or at the very least email them to me? I ask because I just installed some shorties myself, and while the peak gains are respectable, the offpeak power has far exceeded what I anticipated. According to the butt-dyno, I'd estimate in the 15 ft/lb range off-peak. I'm curious how the torque curves compare on yours.
